Hey there fellow gamers it's time for another Friday video game review here on In The Mind Of My Mind. This week I broke one of my own rules and tried out an MMORPG that was recommended to me by a friend. I really need to learn how to deal with peer pressure better; but I digress. Main thing is I typically don't review MMORPG's because they are far too time consuming and require a lot of research and reading to know how best to create and shape your character. At the end of the day however the game is free to play and playable from your browser so why not give it a shot especially if you don't have a top end gaming PC. Have a look at Adventure Quest Worlds...

AdventureQuest Worlds, often shortened to AQWorlds or simply AQW, is a browser-based MMORPG or massively multiplayer online role playing game developed by Artix Entertainment in 2008. Unlike most massively multiplayer role playing games, AdventureQuest Worlds was developed entirely in Adobe Flash. The graphics style of AdventureQuest Worlds is much anime-like, especially notable in the characters' face. Upon creating an account, players are asked to choose one of four "starting classes" to be as their personal character, which are warrior, mage, healer, and rogue. When the players start the game, they will also automatically receive a default weapon. The way a player can advance and essentially progress and get better is by leveling up, which adds to their stat character page, making various abilities and attack power better, enhancements (which enhance a weapon to add stat modifiers, which come in either wizard, fighter, thief, healer, hybrid, spellbreaker, lucky, spitfire, adventurer, etc.), and class.

What’s Good:

Replay Value - If there is one thing that is certain its that this game has a ridiculous amount of content and things to potentially do. So much so that it seems more of a burden than a blessing but it ensures longevity and loyalty to the game. If you make it far enough and long enough to get your character looking as pimped out as some of the characters I seen there is not a doubt that you will be stuck playing this game for a long time to come. From the potential to change classes to the enhancement options of armor there is much that is to be discovered and made use of in this game. At the very least you have 4 different characters to choose from so that enables a wide variety of game-play strategies and experiences.

What’s Bad:

Seeing as I didn't want to nitpick at any one particular aspect i'm gonna summarize it all. Honestly most of the things they fail at are semi-justifiable, i'm just gonna do a quick run down. The navigation system is not as straight forward and intuitive as it could be, the character stats system deviates from the standard point allotment that is a staple point of most MMORPG's, the story-line line of the game itself is lost both because of poor quest progression but also because more value is placed on leveling your character through grinding rather than questing. These are all semi-justifiable since these issues are as relevant when you actually pay for a subscribers fee to the game.

What Should Have Been Added:

A stat point allocation system tied to the characters level, a proper navigation progression system, detailed and meaningful quest progression tied to the story line development and finally balance the exp gain so that questing is more important than just grind exp to level up.

Final Thoughts:

Definitely a fun experience starting out and a good option for those that may not have a proper gaming machine or console. Advisable to play with friends so as to make the experience more rewarding but with a registered user base of over 20 million people you should have no problem running into people and maybe making new friends. Death Before Dishonor

So we had this for a little while now on the lineup to play but Episode 4 of The Walking Dead came out in the same week so we chose to play that instead. Yaay us! Fast forward to this week we dive headfirst into this exciting new IP (Intellectual Property) called Dishonored. It has been heralded as a win for the ideal of new and original ideas still having a place in our world along with the idea that you don't need a multi-player aspect to a game to make it a success. With that said lets showcase the awesomeness that is Dishonored...

Dishonored is a 2012 first-person stealth action adventure video game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was released worldwide in October 2012 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The game is played from a first-person perspective and allows the player to tackle a series of assassination missions in a variety of ways, with an emphasis on player choice. Missions can be tackled by stealth, combat or a combination of both. Exploring levels opens new paths and alternatives for accomplishing mission goals, and it is possible to complete all missions and eliminate all of Attano's targets in a non-lethal manner. The story and missions are modified based on violent actions, or lack thereof, committed by the player.

Dishonored is played with an emphasis placed on stealth action and the use of gadgets and the environment to eliminate opposing forces. The game world is a series of self-contained, mission-focused sandboxes designed to allow for multiple avenues of exploration in terms of in-game movement and powers. Dishonored also features role-playing game elements such as the ability to upgrade powers and moral choices with focus on non-linear consequences. The game is designed to allow the player to complete it without killing any NPC, including boss characters and mission targets. Actions committed by the player are not judged to be of a good or evil morality, but instead are tracked by a "chaos" system that records how much collateral damage, violent actions and deaths are caused by the player. The game world is modified by how little or much damage is caused, affecting story decisions with an emphasis on not punishing the player or forcing them to choose one style of play over another.

Whats Good:

Creativity is off the chain in this game. There is so much freedom to shape and mold your game-play experience as you see fit that it boggles the mind. You can play the game as a perfectionist completing and collecting all quests and item upgrades or you can play as a ruthless assassin hell bent on killing everything in his path. Then couple that with the fact that the game changes accordingly with the choices you make in regards to being stealthy or not and you have yourself a game with immense replay value.

Whats Bad:

Honestly not much was really missing from this game my only issues were with finding certain mission objectives via the onscreen location markers and fall damage. Aside from that the story was a bit cliche but it fits with the overall theme of the game so I can't really hate on it. Also didn't care much for the game sort of forcing you to collect the Runes and Bone ruins to level up your abilities since that kind of forces you along on the path of exploration if you want to maximize your powers.

What Should Have Been Added:

Honestly I can't think of anything that would have made this that much of a greater game.

Drama Seems To Be The Order Of The Day

ITS MONDAY!!!!!

So welcome back for another blog post. How have you all been? Did you miss me? I missed me; I miss me a lot. I think i'm starting to forget the me that I think that I thought that I thought I was once. Anywhore I really don't have a topic I want to talk about; was contemplating talking about the whole Mr. Vegas and his ex-girlfriend situation but honestly I feel like its really not that important and I don't want to contribute to all the hype. However since I don't have a main topic at hand I will just post this here for your listening pleasure to hear the woman's side of the story from her sister and herself since Mr. Vegas's side is pretty much public knowledge. Yes I know i'm a dirty dirty hypocrite but I rather do that than not have a blog post for you all...^_^

So basically that's my reaction after both of those articles.

Both parties involved are wrong either way but I think Vegas kinda has blown the situation out of proportion. Yeah she wrong for doing what she did in his house but he ain't the first dude to get cheated on. Plus it ain't look good that he supposedly well know to be a cheater himself so its like karma has come full circle. Always sucks when misunderstandings happen and people fail to communicate effectively but oh well, people are choosing their sides and anxiously waiting to see if that sex tape comes to light. until such time I will be here playing video games as always. Dress Up Isn't Just For Girls Anymore

There are three things in this world I feel blessed to have been introduced to; gaming, computers and anime. Today we are going to talk about something that I have been very excited about since I found out about it and that is:

Yup an anime convention, right here on my tiny island of Jamaica. I had always heard about this event but never had the good fortune to be in the city of Kingston or have a means seeing pictures of the event. This year that all changes; I WILL BE GOING to this event come hell or high water (no idea what that saying means just seems like it fit the moment). For those that don't know which really shouldn't be anyone Anime refers typically to animation that comes from Japan ideally dubbed in Japanese voices but subbed with the English translation of what is being said. As such an Anime convention is a gathering of like minded Anime fans typically dressed as their favorite character or something related to Japanese culture. Activities vary at Anime conventions from the sale and distribution of anime to the experiencing of many varying facets of what the Japanese culture has to offer. I implore you if you are Jamaican and in the area please come check it out and show some support; it will definitely be worth your time. Heres a little look at some of the awesomeness you can hope to see:

How freaking cool was that? Now imagine how awesome it will be in person and being able to snap pictures of some of your favorite anime characters in real life. The Land Of the Free (Part 1)

Hey there gamers and non-gamers alike; been a while, well technically two weeks since I brought you some video-game goodness. Well i'm here to rectify this in a big way, for the month of August we will be reviewing and featuring free games available to any and everyone  since its been a while I did a review for a free game. Coupled with that i'm going to have a another video-game giveaway for Steam again; so much freeness you would think money never existed. Ok maybe not that much freeness but you get the point, there is going to be a bunch of freeness to take advantage of. So enough dillydallying lets jump into todays review; today we play Pockie Ninja II Social.

Now after seeing that I don't even feel like I need to hype this game up anymore. How could you not want to play something with a premise like this, then couple that with the fact that we are talking about ninja's here, then to top it all off you get to see all this take place from the ease and comfort of a browser. No heavy duty machinery or console required? Tell me how awesome I am for bringing you this game today...Go on....i'm waiting. Now granted I said this game is free and technically it is, it is modeled on something called the free-to-play model. In a perfect world all aspects and features of the game would be free but sadly we do not live in such a world as the programmers and development team behind the game have families to feed and bills to pay. So let me just break down what that equates to for the new or non gaming readers out there:

Free-to-play (F2P) refers to any video game or social or mobile application that has the option of allowing its players/users to play/download without paying. The model was first popularly used in early massively multiplayer online games (MMO) targeted towards casual gamers, before finding wider adoption among games released by major video game publishers to combat video game piracy and high system requirements. Since games using the concept are available at no cost to players, they use other means to gather revenue, such as charging money for certain in-game items (like powerful bonuses which are usually available for real money only) or integrating advertisements into the game. Free-to-play can be compared to pay-to-play, in which payment is required before using a service. Pay-to-play games usually offer equal gaming experience for all players while free-to-play games give advantage to premium players. Now that we have explained that lets talk about the actual game; here is what it looks like...

Pockie Ninja II Social is a browser-based, innovative tactic game. Based on the storyline of Naruto, the game combines village building and battling to create a brand new ninja world. Players can find 84 ninjas from Naruto, employ favorite ones to construct a fancy village, or send these ninjas to the battlefield and build a formidable ninja army. You begin the game by choosing a ninja of your liking from six ninjas (3 Male/3 Female) based on the three types of classes in the game; Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Weapon. The game's damage system operates on a similar system to the game of Janken (rock, paper, sicssors) where Ninjutsu beats Taijutsu, Taijutsu beats Weapon, and Weapon beats Ninjutsu. Always pay close attention to your opponents class type as it plays a vital role in all upcoming battles and can severely turn the tide in your favor.

After entering the game with your newly chosen character you find yourself in a vast open space; this is to be the site of your ninja village as you build it from the ground up. You can decorate your village to raise its prosperity level and keep your fellow ninja happy as well as granting you access to more expensive and more profitable buildings to sustain the economy of your village. The game has a very easy to use and follow graphics user interface (GUI) which clearly shows all the commands and instructions in plain view; add to that a brief tutorial to get you started on each new aspect of the game as it comes into play. The game essentially takes you through the story arc of the popular Japanese anime Naruto on which it is based in the guise of levels in which you battle other ninja type enemies to clear challenges. These challenges reward you with Ryo (the game main currency) and assorted materials useful in upgrading/constructing buildings in your village. As I make mention of battling lets take a look at the in-game battling system...

So battle takes place on a grid layout that determines your field of battle; sometimes it is level other times you may find obstacles obstructing your path such as trees or boulders just to name a few. Players can move their ninja strategically so as to get them in range of their opponent to fire off an attack or conversely move them away to delay the opponents attack pattern. I made mention of the varying class types earlier this also affects movement of individual ninjas: 

1. Taijutsu based ninjas have the most mobility on the field being able to move the furthest distances; this is counterbalanced by giving them the shortest reach leaving them only able to attack an opponent that is in the square directly beside them.

2. Weapon based ninja have the medium ground in terms of mobility on the field being able to move a sizable distance without sacrificing their ability to attack from a distance.

3. Ninjutsu based ninjas have the least amount of mobility on the field being able to move about only 2-3 squares from their initial positions but they are blessed with the most range on their attacks.

Each ninja you gain has one attack skill available to him/her by default there is a second slot for another attack skill but this has to be unlock by paying 30,000 Ryo. There is also a main skill that can be taught through the use of a skill book you can acquire through varying means in-game. These two skills in addition to the primary physical attack each ninja has are what you use to battle against the opponent until you have essentially depleted the life points of all the enemy ninja. Battles can be done manually where you dictate the movement and attack patterns of the ninja's in your control or battles can be auto piloted where the ninja move and attack for themselves as best they see fit. So even if you don't fully get the battle system you can use auto-combat until you do.

Well guys I think I have explained all I can without spoiling too much of the game at least this review should provide you with enough information as always to get you interested and wanting to play the game. The Miseducation Of...

Hopefully you were patient and stuck around to be adequately rewarded. Now that I have your attention hi. Haven't had a chat with yall since last week Monday; didn't write up a game review blog this Friday past as I had many a circumstances to deal with. Anywhore; what will I talk about today? Can you guess what it is from the title...? Go ahead, give it a guess; i'll wait.

You ain't getting it so let me just tell you in four simple words; Things Porn Taught Me. As funny as it sounds most if not all males draw their sexual expertise from porn and then formulate their own prowess of the art as they gain proper exposure and experience. So I figured it would be fun to go through some of these things that we learn and adopted or learned to reject as we grew older. Feel free to comment ladies as I know men aren't the only ones out there watching porn but as always I mostly can only relate to you from the male POV (point-of-view).

1. Girls love to swallow cum when they give head: 

This one is such a big lie. for the most part its the opposite effect, in reality most girls do not enjoy swallowing cum. Dang; why oh why couldn't it be this easy and true all the time? Thank god this is so true because I don't think I would want to live in a world where sex is confined to the parameters of your bedroom only. 8. Girls are always horny and ready for sex:

Another one here I know a lot of us men wish was true. This is sadly not the case and as such there typically is a long list of things to do to effectively seduce a woman into bed for sex and ideally a waiting period is involved. Granted there are always exceptions to the rule as just like we enjoy sex females do too and they have needs just like us except they tend to be more reserved about theirs. Well that and they don't have to hide large (sometimes small) protruding objects that clearly show their state of arousal.

9. All girls masturbate: 

God I feel so cheated that this isn't the case. First time I found this out my heart broke and I locked myself in my room and cried for days under my blanket. Ok, maybe i'm over exaggerating a bit but I swear thats what I felt like doing, a small part of me died on the inside cause I knew then and their that such a thing meant that their were girls out there that would never fully experience the joy of having that kind of close personal relationship with their own body.

10. All girls are bi-curious:

After all my years of living i'm still a bit on the fence on this one but i'm gonna have to say this is true. Girls might say they just being girls or just comfortable with one another but meh. I don't buy that shit for a second; at some point or another that bi-curious tingle kicks and they might have a thought her or there to try something but never do. Some brave souls actually take the plunge and give into their curiosity, whether its just a kiss or a grope or full fledged oral and scissoring. The world is your oyster girl do what makes ya feel good; just never give up on the dick is all we ask. Men have little to no problem with bi-curiousness; hell it turns us on in any case half the time.

Last I Checked Fat Didn't Discriminate...

You know what it is; Zalgo here again with another blog post. So grab your popcorn pull up your chair and take off your undies;.......ok maybe scratch that last one. So today we are gonna talk about something that has been on my mind recently that seems kinda unfair. This is the topic of gender discrimination when it comes on to body image; this wont be a long blog since i'm just going to touch on the topic cause I kinda wanna see what the feedback is like from y'all concerning the topic.

Now everyone knows there are pardon the pun but a pound and a half of different reasons why being fat isnt exactly the best of choices in life, nevertheless some people fall prey to genetics and as such tend to have to live with said fatness. No don't get me wrong here I don't have anything against fat people  as long as you aren't being excessive with it and ignoring your health completely; where I have a problem is the difference in discrimination that occurs. Why is it that a fat male may more than likely be ostracized or treated less favorably than a fat female? Are females that shallow in comparison to males who are more willing to get with a fat chick? Why is it that the male has to have life that much harder than the female of equal standing? Are we doomed to a life of having to worry about getting a six pack or looking like Channing Tatum to have hopes of finding love or getting laid? Speaking of Channing Tatum his new movie Magic Mike is a shining perpetuation of the aforementioned stereotype; sadly however I see no such movie for the female side of that rainbow.





So lets take a look individually at these two, still trying to keep this short by the way. So with the females men will be more willing to hook up with a fat/plus sized girl than a female will be to hook up with a guy; but why is that? Well lets see what we can list out some reasons:

1. There is a genre of porn dedicated to them. (Google BBW)
2. They got dat ass.
3. They got them titties.
4. They know how to cook well or know someone how can.
5. They give the best hugs.
6. If you can maneuver one around in sex you are considered a man.
7. They give good head.
8. They can defend themselves physically.
Etc, Etc, Etc,...So its pretty clear the ladies have a lot going on for them even though its a bit biased they are allowed to let themselves go and not face as harsh judgement as the males.





Now we look at the male side of the rainbow, what praises can we sing of them to sway more females into giving more of them a chance:
1. They are typically quite faithful.
2. Excellent chefs.
3. Last longer in bed.
4. Pay more attention to the woman's needs and seeks to please her to keep her.
5. His belly = your own personal, portable pillow
6. Weighty guys enjoy life more than thin men.
7. Heavier men are softer and more squeezable than skinny studs.
8. He'll never criticize your weight or your food portions.

Etc, Etc, Etc...See; even the plus sized men deserve to have a chance at a loving relationship, speaking as a past plus sized fellow please give the men the time of day. A six pack and what not isn't always the best of foundations for a relationship; a picture maybe but not a relationship...not saying that's all you ladies base it on but just an example. Plus sized men already have it hard enough trying to impress the modern woman without them making it harder by not at least giving them the time of day and a proper opportunity.

Well that's my rant for today; whether or not you agree or disagree feel free to comment your thoughts. I should probably reiterate that this was just a rant and not an expose in bashing females rights to choose or the preferences or belittling plus sized men as i'm sure there are a fair portion out there probably getting more pussy than a lot of average sized men.
