Is It Adventure Time?

Hey there fellow gamers it's time for another Friday video game review here on In The Mind Of My Mind. This week I broke one of my own rules and tried out an MMORPG that was recommended to me by a friend. I really need to learn how to deal with peer pressure better; but I digress. Main thing is I typically don't review MMORPG's because they are far too time consuming and require a lot of research and reading to know how best to create and shape your character. At the end of the day however the game is free to play and playable from your browser so why not give it a shot especially if you don't have a top end gaming PC. Have a look at Adventure Quest Worlds...

AdventureQuest Worlds, often shortened to AQWorlds or simply AQW, is a browser-based MMORPG or massively multiplayer online role playing game developed by Artix Entertainment in 2008. Unlike most massively multiplayer role playing games, AdventureQuest Worlds was developed entirely in Adobe Flash. The graphics style of AdventureQuest Worlds is much anime-like, especially notable in the characters' face. Upon creating an account, players are asked to choose one of four "starting classes" to be as their personal character, which are warrior, mage, healer, and rogue. When the players start the game, they will also automatically receive a default weapon. The way a player can advance and essentially progress and get better is by leveling up, which adds to their stat character page, making various abilities and attack power better, enhancements (which enhance a weapon to add stat modifiers, which come in either wizard, fighter, thief, healer, hybrid, spellbreaker, lucky, spitfire, adventurer, etc.), and class.

What’s Good:
Replay Value - If there is one thing that is certain its that this game has a ridiculous amount of content and things to potentially do. So much so that it seems more of a burden than a blessing but it ensures longevity and loyalty to the game. If you make it far enough and long enough to get your character looking as pimped out as some of the characters I seen there is not a doubt that you will be stuck playing this game for a long time to come. From the potential to change classes to the enhancement options of armor there is much that is to be discovered and made use of in this game. At the very least you have 4 different characters to choose from so that enables a wide variety of game-play strategies and experiences.

What’s Bad:
Seeing as I didn't want to nitpick at any one particular aspect i'm gonna summarize it all. Honestly most of the things they fail at are semi-justifiable, i'm just gonna do a quick run down. The navigation system is not as straight forward and intuitive as it could be, the character stats system deviates from the standard point allotment that is a staple point of most MMORPG's, the story-line line of the game itself is lost both because of poor quest progression but also because more value is placed on leveling your character through grinding rather than questing. These are all semi-justifiable since these issues are as relevant when you actually pay for a subscribers fee to the game.

What Should Have Been Added:
A stat point allocation system tied to the characters level, a proper navigation progression system, detailed and meaningful quest progression tied to the story line development and finally balance the exp gain so that questing is more important than just grind exp to level up.

Final Thoughts:
Definitely a fun experience starting out and a good option for those that may not have a proper gaming machine or console. Advisable to play with friends so as to make the experience more rewarding but with a registered user base of over 20 million people you should have no problem running into people and maybe making new friends. Most importantly the game is free to play so you have nothing to lose if you are a fan of MMORPG's. Vist http://www.aq.com/ and create a character so you can start your Adventure Quest today...

What More Can I Say...

This will be a rant; it may or may not make cohesive sense but you will figure it out. Search your feelings; you know it to be true. This post is just something on my mind I felt like getting off my mind hence it is off my mind and unto the internet commencing now...

Sadness, Angst, Depression; all these feelings and emotions that reek havoc on our fragile little human bodies. For whatever reason we all have these emotions at some point or another and as much as we would like to be able to get rid of them at the flip of a switch we sadly cannot. Relationships go sour, people in our lives die, tragedy strikes in our society; whatever the cause we need to not hide from our feelings but instead embrace them. We must do what we can to rationalize and put them into perspective so that we can retain some level of control in this ever spiraling world we live in. RIP Michael Clarke Duncan, you will be missed. So lets have a chat about relationship based sadness shall we...

LADIES DO NOT BE THE GIRL IN THE PICTURE ABOVE. Prevention is better than cure; if you want to keep a firm grasp of that special DICK in your life then be the type of lady worthy of said DICK. DICK's are a dime a dozen as are vagina's so the onus is on the individual in possession of such to ensure they find a member of matching quality to bond with. However once you find this DICK that you want to be yours you need to do all in your being to ensure you hold on to it while you determine if this is the DICK that compliments your vagina best for whatever reason. Men are very territorial beings and as such if you have been banned from said territory there is minimal chance of you being allowed back with the same rights and privileges you had initially. We are all only mere humans sadly and as such moments will arise when we fuck up in epic proportions. Two paths are put in front you as a girl that has wronged a man or been wronged by a man...

1) Fix what has gone wrong by seeking forgiveness:
This at times is the road most traveled by women; guys tend to be suckers for tears and at the same time when we feel betrayed or manipulated an apology or clear display or remorse goes a long way. No real man enjoys seeing a female cry deep down so do it long enough and you just may weaken his heart that has been hardened by your transgression. Granted you will have a lot of work cut out for you if you want to salvage what you so effortlessly jeopardized and threw away this is the first step on the road to recovering what it is you want to hold on to. THAT EVER LOVING DICK OF HIS THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO PART WAYS WITH. You are in for a bumpy ride as men are very paranoid by nature so you will have to go the extra mile to cater to and pamper him if you want things to gradually get back to the way things were. Make that DICK know that it is the one for you.

2) So now we look at what to do if you were the one who was wronged. Simply put this is way easier to deal with as you have a wide variety of paths to choose from depending on the type of woman you see yourself as. Lets examine the top three popular choices people make:

The Vengeful Path - this is where you set out to defame, slander, or degrade the public image of the person by whatever means necessary via propaganda, destruction of property, etc. LADIES DON'T BE A BITCH AND GUYS DON'T BE A BITCH NIGGA. This path is never the answer if you have self worth, show some decorum and choose a different path. Don't be that guy/girl to take back gifts and say the sex was bad and whatever; not cool man not cool.

The Confident Path - this is where you hold your head high and realize that you are going to be much better off without this trifling two timing DICK in your life. You have a moment of self reflection and examine the past grievances of the relationship without the rose colored glasses of love clouding your judgement. You realize it was for the best as you cut your losses and move on, thanking high heaven that you found out before the situation got any worse. This is the path you should be taking and the one your brain might tell you to choose but the heart is a fickle thing and it may lead you to the vengeful path.

The Loving Path - this is where you cant deny what you have shared with the person. All the history, memories, moments, time invested, money spent, relationships built, it all takes its toll on you and you try to look past the person's monumental fuck up and you forgive them. You don't necessarily forget  as well but you decide to be civil with the person and try to rationalize the situation for better or for worse. Typically you take a small break apart and then find yourself not being able to function properly without the person. This is where this path breaks off into two more paths where you either resume your relationship hoping for better and not worse or you call it quits and learn from the experience for future reference. Just like the saying goes your ex is your ex because they are an example of what you shouldn't have in your life.
_____________________________________________

Relationships either work or they take some work to make them work. Sometimes that means taking all the hardships that come along and having the determination to know that eventually things will get better. Granted not all relationships are salvageable and sometimes you got to know when to call it quits or you will be stuck in an endless cycle just on the receiving end of all the abuse that is being dished out. Know your limits and boundaries and act accordingly; also ensure your partner understands the same.

With all that being said I think I have said all that was on my mind regarding relationships, oh and before I forget any guys reading this can interchange DICK with VAGINA as it applies to them also. Always ensure you don't go into your next relationship with unnecessary emotional baggage that is going to cause problems for the new DICK that enters your life. If all else fails just remember that you have friends and family who love you and just stay away from relationships. Become a hustler...

The Land Of the Free (Part 2)

Gameplay - 9/10
Storyline - 8/10
Graphics - 9/10
Game Score : 26/30

Waaasssuuuuuppppppppp????, lol god that never gets old. Anywhore; welcome to another video game review here on Zalgo_Cometh. I bring for your pleasure and entertainment another free game as promised for the month of August. As you should have realized by now today we will be looking at Alien Swarm. So sit back relax and as Deadpool would say "Feeeeeel the love...".

Alien Swarm is a freeware top-down shoot-em-up video game by Valve Corporation. It is a remake of the Alien Swarm mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, and it was developed by the original team, who were hired by Valve during the course of the development process. Four players can join a single co-operative game, the aim of which is to progress through science fiction-themed levels while eliminating waves of aliens. Players can choose from 40 different pieces of equipment. The game includes persistent statistics, unlockable equipment, and achievements. All this alongside the fact that its free and we can definitely say we have a winner on our hands ladies and gentlemen. The only official campaign in the game thus far, is called Jacob's Rest, and centers around a swarm of invasive aliens having taken over a colonized planet in December 2052. Marines deployed by a drop ship named "The Bloodhound" arrive to search for survivors and if need be, to destroy the colony to prevent the spread of the aliens.

The game is class-based, with players choosing from the roles of Officer, Special Weapons, Medic, and Tech. Each class has two selectable characters, with differences in abilities.
Officer
Grants a passive bonus to damage and damage resistance to nearby allies. He has access to the Vindicator, a class-restricted shotgun with an incendiary grenade launcher and has general all-around abilities. They are also capable of throwing extra amounts of explosive ordnance, and may find class-restricted ammo caches on the field for his Vindicator shotgun. The two playable characters are Sarge and Jaeger.
Special Weapons
Brings raw damage to the table and starts out with a customized autogun with superior parameters, high magazine capacity, and auto-aiming ability. The Special Weapons gains access to a powerful minigun at a high enough level, and can pick up class-restricted ammo caches on the field. The two playable characters are Wildcat and Wolfe.
Medic
Is the only class able to equip and deploy temporary healing beacons, and at a high enough level can use a medigun to selectively heal teammates and themselves. The two playable characters are Faith and Bastille.
Tech
Carries a motion sensor, sets up sentry guns faster, welds doors faster, and is the only class capable of unlocking certain door panels or completing certain objectives by means of a hacking minigame. They also have access to a prototype assault rifle with auto-aiming capabilities and the ability to fire stun grenades. The two playable characters are Crash and Vegas.

The game has a very well rounded and detailed experience system which keeps track of the players progress as you levels up. Leveling up is integral in this game as it is how you unlock a wider range of more powerful weapons and equipment. Though the characters, classes and their skills are fixed, players can earn Experience Points for their account by completing missions and earning Achievements. Each Achievement is worth 50 experience points, and experience from missions is based on several factors. Players still earn experience even if their marine dies during the course of a mission - but your income will probably be lower than that of your surviving squadmates unless you died near the end of the mission. Upon reaching the maximum level (27) you have the option to trade in all your accumulated experience points and revert back to level 1. For this you get what is called a promotion and a shiny new emblem/badge to go on your account so people can see how far you have gone playing the game. This system is similar to that of the Call of Duty franchise except less beneficial to the player directly. Well that about covers my little foray into Alien Swarm so be sure to check it out for free on STEAM and if you can't then recommend it to someone and watch my play-through.

Thanks For Stopping By
