Movie Club Night: The Conjuring

3 comments click here

Ok; so I know I said last week was the end of the movie club but I figured I would continue the trend since I feel lazy after all cause work has been kicking my ass and its pretty much way easier for me to write up one of these than actually flesh out an actual blog post on something I want to rant on about. I do enough of that on Fridays for our game reviews so hope y'all continue to enjoy the movie club posts when they appear. Anywhore tomorrow is a public holiday here on my island of Jamaica so i'll be able to sleep like a mo'fucka since no work. With that being said i'm going to bang this blog post out and try to get cracking on some other things I gotta do tonight like exercise and play my co-worker in Injustice online. Last week we reviewed The Redemption starring Jason Statham and as expected I enjoyed that movie immensely; as such I will rate it a solid 8 /10. Jason delivers a right proper performance with his usual action packed self but also displays a bit of his acting prowess in bringing his character to life. *Spoiler alert* but he even charms the panties off a Nun; you got to be pretty awesome to pull that off. With that being said this week we are going to watch a movie I have been hyping up for and anticipating for months on end; based on an actual true story I present to you, The Conjuring...

In 1971, Carolyn and Roger Parren move their family into a dilapidated Rhode Island farm house and soon strange things start happening around it with escalating nightmarish terror. In desperation, Carolyn contacts the noted paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, to examine the house. What the Warrens discover is a whole area steeped in a satanic haunting that is now targeting the Parren family wherever they go. To stop this evil, the Warrens will have to call upon all their skills and spiritual strength to defeat this spectral menace at its source that threatens to destroy everyone involved. Currently as of posting this blog the movie has a 7.9 rating on IMDB so as always should be interesting to see what rating we the Movie Club here on In The Mind Of My Mind end up giving it. Click the following link to download a copy of the movie at your leisure and check it out. Be sure to come back here and drop a few words in the comment section below with your thoughts on the movie and how much you would score it based on the acting quality, story-line, cinematics and actors.

Movie Club Night: Redemption

0 comments click here

Grab a chair start reading through cause we have quite the the movie tonight. Recently released starring one of my all time favorite actors Jason Muthafucking Statham. Last week we checked out The Colony and boy oh boy was it an exciting movie so we are going to keep the action packed vibe going this week with The Redemption aka 'Hummingbird'. The Colony definitely had its action packed moments but I was pretty pissed at what happened with Morpheus; yes i'm calling him Morpheus cause I want to. I know his name is Laurence Fishburne but he will always and forever be known as Morpheus. All in all i give The Colony a 7.5 as my final score cause I certainly enjoyed it more than Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down. With that being said lets check out the trailer for Redemption...

Homeless and on the run from a military court martial, a damaged ex-special forces soldier navigating London's criminal underworld seizes an opportunity to assume another man's identity -- transforming into an avenging angel in the process. Currently as of posting this blog the movie has a 6.2 rating on IMDB so as always should be interesting to see what rating we the Movie Club here on Zalgo Cometh end up giving it. This will potentially be the final Movie Club blog post as we did it for the month of July. Was hoping to get more buzz and feedback in the comments section but nothing ventured nothing gained. I'll still occasionally throw out a Movie Club post here and there but I do believe I will be going back to the random Monday blog post that we are used to doing. Thank you for your participation those who did and hope you enjoyed the movies. Click the following link to download a copy of the movie at your leisure and check it out. Be sure to come back here and drop a few words in the comment section below with your thoughts on the movie and how much you would score it based on the acting quality, story-line, cinematics and actors.

Movie Club Night: The Colony

6 comments click here

Hey there guys and girls; back again I see for another Monday Night Movie Club I see. Well last week we watched White House Down and that completed or double viewing of both Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down. Now since both movies shared similar plots I figured it was a good idea to have us watch both and then compare the two and decide which we preferred and why as well as giving the movies a rating. After watching both I can easily say for myself that I enjoyed White House Down more than Olympus Has Fallen. Even though both movies involve the president being betrayed by someone close to him and the White House being taken over by Terrorists I would have to say White House Down is the more touching and believable of the two plots. Granted the movies aren't going to be winning any awards, but they definitely manage to be entertaining. I give Olympus Has Fallen a 6/10 and I will give White House Down a 7/10 overall. Now that we have addressed that lets see what we will be watching together this week on In The Mind Of My Mind...

Forced underground by the next ice age, a struggling outpost of survivors must fight to preserve humanity against a threat even more savage than nature. When the world changes the rules of survival change with it. In 2045, the Earth faces extreme cold conditions which force survivors to live in underground bunkers. Their challenges are controlling disease and producing sufficient food. Two soldiers, Briggs (Laurence Fishburne) and Mason (Bill Paxton) are the leaders of one such bunker, Colony 7. The movie as of writing this currently holds a 5.5/10 score on IMDb so lets see if that is a correct grading for the movie. Click the following link to download a copy of the movie at your leisure and check it out. Be sure to come back here and drop a few words in the comment section below with your thoughts on the movie and how much you would score it based on the acting quality, story-line, cinematics and actors.

Movie Club Night: White House Down

8 comments click here

Here we go with the second installment of Monday Night Movie Club here on In The Mind Of My Mind for the month of July. Last week we watched Olympus Has Fallen in preparation for this weeks movie White House Down as many people claim both movies are very similar but somehow White House Down was the better of the two. So tonight we will watch White House Down and hopefully get some feedback from you our fans on both movies and which you prefer. Going forward after this weeks Monday Night Movie Club I will give my rating of the movie watched the previous week. Anywhore today's movie will be available for download as usual and i'm really crossing my fingers hoping there are no technical difficulties and everyone can access it fine and no trouble comes from this. Ideally we will do a mix of new recent movies as well as old movies here and there to review and offer opinions on. Feel free to also try Netflix as they are a premiere service for accessing movies on a whole. Also on a side note EVO was this past weekend in Las Vegas and I usually do a wrap up blog but Kotaku actually did a pretty decent post on it this time around so I will just link it here.

Capitol Policeman John Cale has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer. Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation's government falling into chaos and time running out, it's up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country. The movie as of writing this currently holds a 6.3/10 score on IMDb so lets see if that is a correct grading for the movie. Click the following link to download a copy of the movie at your leisure and check it out. Be sure to come back here and drop a few words in the comment section below with your thoughts on the movie and how much you would score it based on the acting quality, storyline, cinematics and actors.

Movie Club Night Is Here; Lets See If This Works

5 comments click here

Hey there reader type person; how are you this fine day? Hope you are doing well and have made it through your Monday relatively unscathed. Last week I made mention of trying to bring back the Movie club Idea that I had from back in the earlier days of the blog so that's exactly what we aim to do tonight. If the idea gets enough support then we might make it a weekly part of the blog and have it set specifically for Wednesdays. Anywhore today's movie will be available for download and i'm really crossing my fingers hoping there are no technical difficulties and everyone can access it fine and no trouble comes from this. Ideally we will do a mix of new recent movies as well as old movies here and there to review and offer opinions on. In the future we will try to get smaller files for download or figure out a way to stream the movies here on the blog if possible. As well as hold polls to determine which movie to watch next. Feel free to also try Netflix as they are a premiere service for accessing movies on a whole. This week we will be taking a look at "Olympus Has Fallen".

Disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped inside the White House in the wake of a terrorist attack; using his inside knowledge, Banning works with national security to rescue the President from his kidnappers. The movie as of writing this currently holds a 6.6/10 score on IMDb so lets see if that is a correct grading for the movie. Click the following link to download a copy of the movie at your leisure and check it out. Be sure to come back here and drop a few words in the comment section below with your thoughts on the movie and how much you would score it based on the acting quality, storyline, cinematics and actors.

Beggars Can't Be Choosers

9 comments click here

Whats up with y'all? Another random Monday night blog here for your viewing pleasure; want to take this time to just make mention of a disturbingly growing trend I noticed of late. More and more beggars on the road these days are either grown adults or children seeking money for lunch, bus-fare or books. I know these are trying times for our nation of Jamaica but when did being a beggar suddenly become ok? I remember growing up and my parents told me that I should never beg because it was not proper. You know like how parents tell their kids not to talk to strangers or don't accept candy from random people; it was one of those kinda rules. Its like now I can't go a day or two without either seeing a mother with a baby begging or a kid in uniform approaching me calling me sir asking for bus-fare.

I'm a firmly against begging but I realize in our society it is inevitably due to world wide recession and dire straits that people face on a day to day basis. I however believe in compromise so if begging is the only avenue left available to you as an individual at least show me you are willing to work for what you want and not just expect society to hand feed you and provide money for you. We already do enough of that; its called paying taxes. Either entertain me or make me laugh but don't just expect that flaunting your child or feeding me some sob story deems you worthy of getting my hard earned money. See that guy in the video above, I would without a doubt give him money cause that shit is cool as hell.

Well with that being said i'll end my little rant here. Hopefully I never find myself in the position of a beggar but you can rest assured that ill be seeking deliverance from my dire straits and not just be looking for the nearest handout.

Open You Mind, Ears, And Maybe Even Your Legs...

3 comments click here

That my friends is called an 'eargasm'. Few are blessed to experience this sacred and blessed event in their lifetime physically. Most just experience it mentally, count yourself in the lucky few to have witnessed it first hand. Welcome to another random Monday blog here on Zalgo Cometh, felt like touching on something of musical nature today so lets get this popping. Firstly for those that might not know let me define what an 'Eargasm' is. Although self explanatory for anyone who knows what an orgasm feels like  this is not to be confused with as such cause ain't nothing better than a right proper orgasm...^_^

Eargasm:
July 26, 2006
1. noun. The sensation one gets while hearing a dramatic climax in music.
2. noun. The climax of musical excitement.
3. verb. To have an eargasm.

With that out of the way we are going to dig into two up and coming genres of music that are taking the world by storm. These i'm referring to are Dubstep and K-POP. Yes I know for us that are vastly internet savvy this may seem a moot subject but oddly enough this is just a post to inform the masses not the hipsters like us normal internet denizens. At the very least you can refer someone who is a newbie to the subject matter to help them understand the awesomeness that lays in wait for them. If you hadn't figured it out by now I said 'we' earlier as I was implying I have garnered the help of another individual to cover the K-POP side of things in a more detailed manner.

That is Skrillex; not the picture the actual video. Now although by no means the inventor of Dubstep he is the more popular face of Dubstep and has done a lot for the genre and the bringing of it to the public domain. He has many songs that embody the awesomeness of Dubstep and you can go check out his channel right over (here). Now as far as Dubstep goes there are many different explanations trying to label describe or otherwise put human logic to the true meaning of its nature. Some say its robots having sex,  people say it makes the ladies panties drop, others say its music from the devil but I for one think it is just a truth of the universe that you accept and allow to take over you body. Seriously its just music people; plain and simple, it might sound like sweet nectar from the gods but its just awesome music. Towards the end of the decade the genre started to become more commercially successful in the UK, with more singles and remixes entering the music charts. It was at this point we started seeing lots of Dubstep being injected into mainstream culture at large; movies, video games, even simple television commercials had to have a bit of Dubstep. One of the best characteristics of Dubstep, is the 'bass drop'; its normally when the percussion pauses for a second and then comes back with a heavier bass line. It is always very pleasurable to hear one but you really need to hear it on a big sound system to know how good it is. This is usually the main source of 'eargasms' in conjunction with Dubstep music.

Next up on the agenda is K-POP, i'm sure by now most of you would have already seen, heard of, or know Oppa Gangnam Style. The hot new single by PSY that is taking over the world by storm and spreading mainstream knowledge of K-POP and its awesomeness. Currently at over 199 million views on YouTube as of being uploaded on July 15. PSY is a Korean artist and that is what the K in K-POP stands for essentially. Many other songs from the genre are just as catchy and fun to listen, but let me not get too ahead of myself, introducing a true K-POP fan I present to you Pica* (subjects name changed to protect identity).

So since 2008, I’ve been fascinated with the Asian culture by all sorts of medium, manga, anime, drama, music, food oh cant leave that out love my belly too much. It all started with one and led to the others. Music was the last to slap me in the face and called me its bitch, I heard a song from a Korean drama that I loved to death and started youtube’ing  the group who sang it. Then I started finding a lot more people that I really like, mind you I still just know a few words in either Japanese or Korean, still learning the Chinese stuff. What I felt listening to the music was like a deep connection to a culture not my own. Its like the words played in my head and I knew instantly what they were feeling,  and the emotions they wish to convey. Currently I have a lot of songs on my phone that people always wonder what the hell are these, lol but to me I get it, I understand it. I'm happy to say my Jamaican family has started to embrace what I found long ago. Gangnam Style; people soon be like "oh that man is surely a music genius."

Well folks that is the end of our little expose on Dubstep and K-POP. Hope you found it entertaining and informative, if not sorry you fail at life and can't appreciate a new experience. Sucks to be you...

more.

Thanks For Stopping By
