Movie Club Night Is Here; Lets See If This Works

Hey there reader type person; how are you this fine day? Hope you are doing well and have made it through your Monday relatively unscathed. Last week I made mention of trying to bring back the Movie club Idea that I had from back in the earlier days of the blog so that's exactly what we aim to do tonight. If the idea gets enough support then we might make it a weekly part of the blog and have it set specifically for Wednesdays. Anywhore today's movie will be available for download and i'm really crossing my fingers hoping there are no technical difficulties and everyone can access it fine and no trouble comes from this. Ideally we will do a mix of new recent movies as well as old movies here and there to review and offer opinions on. In the future we will try to get smaller files for download or figure out a way to stream the movies here on the blog if possible. As well as hold polls to determine which movie to watch next. Feel free to also try Netflix as they are a premiere service for accessing movies on a whole. This week we will be taking a look at "Olympus Has Fallen".

Disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped inside the White House in the wake of a terrorist attack; using his inside knowledge, Banning works with national security to rescue the President from his kidnappers. The movie as of writing this currently holds a 6.6/10 score on IMDb so lets see if that is a correct grading for the movie. Click the following link to download a copy of the movie at your leisure and check it out. Be sure to come back here and drop a few words in the comment section below with your thoughts on the movie and how much you would score it based on the acting quality, storyline, cinematics and actors.

the attack and how they pulled it off was more believable than white house down, really intense and realistic except for bannings one man army on the inside thing lol.
both this and white house down had the same with the presi but white huse down i think was more friendlier and olympus was more serious and wasn't scared to kill hostages when the moment called for it.
9/10

Have to agree with u sly 9/10. loved this movie. with a cast that has actors like Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, and eye candy like Gerard Butler, and Rick Yune, who cudn't expect this to be an awesome movie, i'm surprised i didn't c Tommy-lee Jones in there;for some reason i just expected him to be in a movie like that. over all it was a really good movie.

the one man army thing seemed pretty suspect to me as well. i can't see how foreign diplomats would make it that far into the white house and no one knows a thing considering America is like the worlds greatest super power. think your 9/10 is a bit generous but to each they own.

yeah Tommy_lee probably would fit right along in there.

I'm supposed to rate it? Hmmm not sure if I can. That aside I loved it thank you very much. Love me some Butler and call me biased but Asian guys don't generally float my boat but Yune (who is always a bad guy ;-) definitely has my vote.
The more far fetched a movie (within reason of course) the more I love it. Its about escapism for me. So the whole breaking into the white-house and 1 guy saving the day seemed totally legit based on how they laid it all out. I thought Yune and his group were serious bad asses who had everything covered, I mean the plan was ELABORATE. Did u see how they covered all their bases? Terrorists united and coordinated and what-not. I mean devise a plan to get into the white-house and the bunker, ensure that u blow the place and everyone in it to hell and back, make some serious threaths and follow through, include a bit of torture and voila perfect brilliant mastermind. Yep seemed totally legit :-) Sure Butler's one man show may seem a little questionable but I totally saw how he did it. Guy was super motivated he was just looking for a reason to prove that he was not a total screw up even after the tragedy he faced with not being able to save the 1st lady, plus the traitor did provide some help.
Like I said I loved it nice bloody scenes like all good action thrillers should have with just the right amount of emotion and witty/caustic banter to keep you on the side of Good.
Haven't gotten to White-house Down yet but how curious that they have released 2 almost identical plots in such short order?
