PSP Oh How I Have Missed You So...

Gameplay - 9.5/10
Storyline - 10/10
Graphics - 10/10
Game Score : 29.5/30

All hail JesusBuddha, Yaweh, God, The Virgin Mary, Cthulhu, The Flying Spaghetti Monster or whichever imaginary deity it is that you acknowledge; I have just cause to aimlessly walk through crowds and traffic while playing my PSP again. Square Enix has finally announced the release date for the long awaited sequel to 'Dissida : Final Fantasy' aptly titled 'Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy'. I Freaking loved the first one and have been patiently waiting for this game to be released but in my eagerness I have gotten a copy of the Japanese version to see what the game is like  and boy oh boy am I pleased. Honestly the first game was truly remarkable and one of those must play PSP titles and my only gripe was that they didnt fit more characters into the game. Duodecim does not have this problem as we see some fan favorite additions to the game and a new assist system in combat.

Without even mentioning it fans of the Final Fantasy universe will know these familiar faces and be excited at the prospect of using them; and if your new you gotta admit these characters look pretty bad-ass in any case. Without giving away the plot of the series let me just say that The story revolves around two gods: Cosmos, the goddess of harmony, and Chaos, the god of discord (hope that was enough to wet your appetite). So in addition to the returning cast from the original game we get roughly 8 new characters added to the mix: Gilgamesh, Prishe, Yuna, Lightning, Tifa Lockheart, Kain Highwind, Laguna Loire, and Vaan. I know I am beyond a doubt looking forward to use both Tifa and Yuna; hurray for fan service in games ^_^. In addition to the newcomers we also see implemented an assist system which is a new element to the game which allows the player to summon an additional ally into battle to either assist in attacking the enemy or defend from an oncoming attack. It is performed using the Assist Gauge, which is built up by using Bravery Attacks. Well I hope that if you have a PSP you ensure you get this game and give it a go and if not find a friend who does or buy a PSP cause it really is worth the experience if whether you are an old or new gamer. I'm gonna jump back into this game so I will see you all next time, same black place; same black channel...
