Nintendo 3DS

Now i can't say i'm not biased but i am trying to be impartial; so lemme start this off with some gaming history education. We all know that Nintendo started it all as far as portable gaming went for the most part. Their first notable competitor in that aspect was the Sega Gamegear and we basically all know how that turned out, few people still own or know what a Gamegear is. Now fast forward to the year 2004 after Nintendo has had the portable gaming world in a monopoly releasing handheld after handheld since 1989; we see Sony join the fray with it's own handheld the PSP.
Since then it has truly been an uphill fight for Sony going toe-to-toe with the handheld giant Nintendo but they never turned away from the fight and have made alot of headway in the portable gaming field solidifying their own fair portion of the market. With that being said many saw the PSP as the more grown and sexy addition to the handheld market over the Nintendo DS. This was primarily because thats who Nintendo seemingly catered most of there promotions and games to.
As such many of the old Nintendo fans grew tired and restless of the seemingly endless supply of kid oriented ad campaigns and video games being released and jumped ship to the PSP even if only for a time. Nintendo gradually realised their fault and sought to fix it by releasing vintage games bringing back the lost era of awesomeness of thier video games that had made them famous in the first place ie. Zelda, Metroid, Kirby.
Back on base however the 3DS is definitely something new and innovative and what we have come to expect from Nintendo. the concept of playing your games in 3-D without the aid of those clunky 3-D glasses is enough to have all gamers jumping for joy and it will definitely be a big industry changer as far as gaming and handheld gaming go. On the flip side of that coin however is the NGP which although isn't using breaking technology it is fine tuning existing technology and taking it to a whole other level. taking the gamer and increasing the interactivity between gamer and player is and should always be a major goal of a video game company.
Since there is no way to see the Nintendo 3DS in actual action i present this dramatization of what it is like and also this video of what game play is like on the NGP.
