Can't Go Wrong With A Good Storyline...

Gameplay - 8/10
Storyline - 10/10
Graphics - 10/10
Game Score : 28/30

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is a role-playing video game and a sequel to The Witcher, developed by Polish studio CD Projekt RED for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 (announced earlier today). Just like its predecessor, the game is based on the book series of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Wow; I mean like seriously, wow. I almost don't want to write anything about this game besides that because I don't want to spoil anything for you. If your are a serious gamer you need to play this game and if your not you still need to play this freaking game. Many claim this game is another in the game style of Dragon Age but to me this game is everything that Dragon Age wanted to be but fell short in some aspects. I see The Witcher 2 as the more mature and refined version of Dragon Age albeit that both are exceptional games in their own right.

As in the first game, the player controls Geralt of Rivia, one of the few remaining witchers. Witchers are humans who have been trained and genetically enhanced from a young age to fight monsters. So thats as much of the storyline as your getting out of me; for the complete understanding you can go play the first Witcher game but it isn't totally necessary as the game starts off with a prologue that helps bring you somewhat up to speed on the previous happenings of the game. My area of contention with this game however is the difficulty of the combat system which can seem daunting at first for new gamers or gamers stepping out of their typical gaming comfort zone. So be forewarned there is no hand holding tutorial to get you up to speed you are responsible for your progression whether it be easy or hard. Another bit of friendly advice I will give is to make the most of your journal for the information it stores is invaluable and will make your gaming experience much better.

Well since you already know from what I have said that the storyline is awesome, not to mention totally non linear, we can talk a little about the stunning visuals you can expect from this game. As you can see in the picture above there are stunning visuals in this game no matter what graphical capabilities your PC may have; if the game runs you will definitely be glad you got this game. From the lush landscape to the impressive full frontal, detailed nudity in the game your eyes will certainly be stimulated time and time again. I swear rambling on like this you would think they paid me to write this review but the game speaks for itself. Here's something you probably didn't know; the president of Poland gave a copy of this game to the US President Barack Obama as this game is so good and seen as a proud achievement for the country of Poland. If that isn't convincing enough for you check out this gameplay walk-through of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for yourself first hand...

i almost finish the game, but although the story line is ok, it suffers from some inconsistencies, with concern to time and atmosphere. especially with the whole mutant thing. It supposed to be a medieval style game and I remember getting lost in this convo with this witch after I fought the kraken-like thing, where she was explaining mutation with cells and DNA. Its supposed to be 1200 A.D.! THe dark ages.

yea but keep in mind tht magicians and witches are basically just olden days scientists. so its feasible in that sense.

You failed to mention in your review of the level of difficulty and how if 3 things gang you then u could potentially die in a matter of seconds and the lack of instructions that could potentially alienate newcomers to the series or at least leave the more casual gamers out in the cold, I will admit that it was a little harrowing to be dropped in the middle of a battle field then like two min later square of against a dragon that was pretty awesome, but was was not awesome was me dying 40 times trying to beat the first two guards I came across
