The Internet

Something so integral to the world and its existence but many do not truly understand, appreciate or use it for it true purpose. Hi; i'm Rion, an avid internet user and as such I am more than qualified to take you on an introductory journey into the true use, meaning and purpose of the internet in all its glory. The origins of the Internet date back to research in the 1960s, commissioned by the United States government in collaboration with private commercial interests to build robust, fault-tolerant, and distributed computer networks. The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. For those confused by TCP/IP think of it as a set of rules that govern how you connect and converse with all the information on the internet, while your IP address itself is your home address so that the information travelling back and forth knows where to send and receive from. Now that the educational stuff is out of the way let's get to the stuff that you wont find in books.

Unbeknown to many people the internet is more than just Facebook, Twitter and YouTube; it houses and generates so much information on a day-to-day basis one can say it is truly without end. At the core of the internet's existence in this day and age is something called a search engine; with this one can pin point any bit of information that they would like access to. Some of these include but are not limited to: Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask and Kosmix. Google I would say is at the forefront of this category; be sure to use it whenever you have a question. Some internet specialists go as far as to say that Google has answers to questions that even God doesn't know. You can be the judge of that yourself; I don't make the news I just spread it to the masses as is...

Moving right along there also exists a robust list of sorts that has grown over time to becomes accepted rules of etiquette of sorts between the more experienced traverser's of the internet and its culture as a whole. You can see this list below and take the time to read and understand it in all its intricacy; it is almost guaranteed you won't fully comprehend or understand the significance or purpose of many of these but hopefully as your sojourn on the internet extends and you become more exposed you will come to know, spread, and appreciate these rules as I am now. I myself have yet to fully understand or appreciate all these rules but everyday is certainly a new and exciting learning experience. Never take anything on the internet for granted and above all things, remember that if you can't find it on the internet then it probably doesn't exist. Feel free to post any comments, questions or suggestions regarding the following list...

It is pretty sad tho that people only see the net as Facebook and Twitter. If they even saw it as Google it woulda bad and nuh suh bad. But hey, FB is quite the phenomenon that has even our parents hooked. To the point where we avoid them on it. But good job. Time the world knows and for some to be reminded what the net is

And then they ask why do they block it HA! I guess FB has reduced most capacities for exploration of the net. It's all about FB and twitter. Oh well, Que Sera Sera.
