Gaming For The Ages

Gameplay - 10/10
Storyline - 10/10
Graphics - 10/10
Game Score : 30/30

Ah yes this week has been dubbed retro week as per request by a follower; so shout-outs to Michca for the idea. So i have made my pick for the top two greatest games to make video game history in my humble but always correct opinion...^_^

Many Mario's Over The Years
The little Italian plumber from the mushroom kingdom that has easily become the most world famous video game character in existence has won the hearts of many gamers and non-gamers alike. Brought to life by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto; Mario Mario (yes his last name is actually his first name) debuted in Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. We see Mario embarking on an epic adventure to save Princess Peach from the evil King Bowser and return order to the Mushroom Kingdom. If another player wants to join the fun then they assume the role of Mario's brother Luigi  as player two and helps him on his epic journey. Along the way clearing worlds and visiting various castles Mario is riddled with disappointment upon finding out that Princes Peach is yet again in another castle. The player must forge ahead and prove themselves until they are eventually rewarded with the princess after making it through all eight worlds and variations of Bowsers castle's.

I can safely say that this game is without a doubt the reason I became a gamer. I still remember those days as a baby sitting in my father's lap while he took the time to teach me how to play and show me where all the tricks for the game. From the well hidden free lives to perfectly timing running under bowser when he jumped in the air; this game will forever remain in the annals of video game history as an industry changer. Not to say their aren't many other honorable mentions; Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Zelda just to name a few but Mario will forever be embedded on the hearts and minds of many as a true icon of the video game industry for years to come.
