Dumb Shit All Around......

So in the space of three days since the week has started we see some very interesting stories popping up. Let's deal with at home news of sorts first......


Internationally known reggae superstar Buju Banton whose claim to fame was his 1988 controversial song 'Boom Bye Bye' has finally been convicted of the alleged crime of drug trafficking on the charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five or more kilograms of cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking offense and using the wires to facilitate a drug-trafficking offense. He was found not guilty on the charge of attempted possession of a firearm with the attempt to distribute. Ironic how he was singing about such things and now chances are kinda high that he will be in situations of such standing. i really hope he can overcome this trying time and rise again after he has served his time. Guess he never heard the don't do drugs campaign growing up; oh well..... 

Continuing along the path of the one and only Buju Banton; it seems that a reporter from Jamaica television studio TVJ decided to take it upon herself to do a little shoplifting while on her company paid trip to report on the Buju Banton trial. Seriously...? How dumb can you be? In such a time period that Jamaica has been in the news for so much negativity you feel so compelled to add your little piece of idiocy to the mix and make it that much worse. Reports indicate that one Latoya Spence was caught shoplifting and taken into custody, things took an even more interesting turn when she took it upon herself to go on On The Ground News and comment on how it was not her and that the reports were wrong. Sadly unknown to her this copy of her arrest report started circulating around to prove the allegations she was under (Click Here). At this rate people are gonna start thinking that we are purposefully trying to be seen as this stupid....

Now that that is over and out of the way; last and most important story of the week thus far........bet your wondering what it is huh? Feel that anticipation running up and down your spine wondering what could be so important that it warrants being so important? Well this is it......Never go live in Vietnam if you are a gamer.....

Why you may ask? Well I am sure unless you were living under a rock you would have heard about the big fiasco in Egypt where the government banned the internet and basically sent the country in a big upheaval. Well the Vietnamese Government is asking ISPs (Internet Service Providers) to ban online access to games from 10pm-8am on a daily basis to combat the supposed side effects of online gaming in the country. Now I am all for balance and moderation as much as the next person but when you want to take away a persons choice to live how they see fit I have an issue with that. I believe one should be free to do as they please in the privacy of their own home as long as they are not adversely affecting others or the community around them. Gaming is just as fundamental a part of life and society as breathing; ok maybe not so much as breathing but come on you......get what i am saying right.......?
