Gone But Not Forgotten...

Gameplay - 8/10
Storyline - 6/10
Graphics - 7/10
Game Score : 21/30

Gamers young and old draw close as I bring to you something that has been missing from the gaming world for quite some time now. Um; but before that let me just say apologies for the late blog as I was preoccupied with Wrestlemania XXVII (thats 27 in roman numerals for who don't know) in all it's glory, i'm still a kid at heart and still love it to this day. Now with that out of the way feel free to check out this trailer...

Now I have to say when I discovered this game I thought it was a new release but after some research it turns out that this game was actually released in 2009 but just got released March 11th 2011 in Japan and on Windows. Stoked: Big Air Edition offers players a pretty well rounded snowboarding experience as well as giving players a wide knowledge base of real world snowboarding tips and tricks for those interested to learn. I got this game with hope and anticipation because not since the days of Cool Boarders & SSX Tricky have I truly enjoyed or even played a snowboarding game. Unfortunately the over the top style of game-play so familiar in the aforementioned titles was not present in this game, as it takes a seemingly more realistic approach to the sport of snowboarding.

Although a seemingly failed attempt at reviving the genre of snowboarding games I will admit this game does a pretty good representation of the sport and how it takes place in real life. Stoked: Big Air Edition has some pretty decent gaming features such as real world weather patterns and boarding style recognition. The real weather experience; for example takes place, when it snows, fresh snow powder builds up on the mountain. When it does not snow, rocks are exposed; while the boarding recognition recognizes "stylish" riding versus "hucker" riding, this affects your score if you're known for riding in one particular way. If your a fan of snowboarding definitely check this game out; the controls may take a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it you may have trouble putting it back down...
