Gather round and listen well as we take a look at another attempt by EA to venture into the simulation racing market... Folks you need to play this game; if you love simulation racing reminiscent of such epic games as Gran Turismo then you should definitely give this game a try. Need For Speed Shift 2: Unleashed is truly a challenging and real to life racing experience from start to finish. From the detailed graphics to the realistic damage and sounds; there is no doubt that for PC gamers who do not have Gran Turismo 5 (GT5) on a console or anyone in general this is the next best thing. Shift 2: Unleashed features 145 cars from 37 manufacturers and 36 different tracks, on which players can compete in several types of races. These races include such things as: drifting, muscle car racing, retro car racing, endurance races and circuit competition. This game truly covered all the essential area of simulation racing that are important to fans of the genre: tuning, extensive car library and varying tracks/events. Personally I am an arcade racer of sorts but I must admit, once you can understand the driving mechanics of the game and learn what you can and cannot do with your car it is easy to pick up this game and enjoy it. Competing with friends is even easier now with the addition of the Autolog feature that enables you to keep track of your race results and compare them with friends to see who truly is the better driver.

Even though I am not a simulation racing fan I had my doubts about this game, if it could truly provide a real world experience for players looking for the next GT5. Especially considering EA's past attempts at this style of racing: NFS: Pro Street and NFS Shift were not so well received by fans of the franchise. The people at EA and Slightly Mad Studios seemingly listened this time around to fans out there and definitely delivered on these areas. If you have any doubts about how seriously they took this gaming experience have a look at this video for yourself...

more.
