Shank 2 is an upcoming brawler game developed by Klei Entertainment, released on February 7th, 2012. The main character carries three main weapons: a chainsaw, dual pistols, and dual knives. The weapons are mapped to a face button which allows players to seamlessly switch weapons. Shank also contains many basic elements of platforming games, which include the players jumping and scaling buildings, and using knives to climb. The fast paced combat system and stunning artwork definitely are the two major incentives to play this game.

The game features an all-new Survival Mode, allowing the player to team up with friends to take down increasingly difficult waves of enemies. This replaces the Co-Op mode from the first Shank game, sadly yhey have removed Co-Op campaign all together. The game will also feature richer and interactive environments that the player can use to take down enemy goons, all in a unique and stunning visual style. The player also has the abillity to use enemies weapons against them. Using the new, multi-weapon combat system, you now have countless of ways to take them down, ranging from counter moves to weapon combos! There are many weapons and ways to dispatch of your enemy which is a great bonus to the replayability and fun factor of this game. Tie in the addition of a wide cast of characters to unlock and choose from and you certainly have the makings of a truly entertaining title.

Even though the typical expectation of games of this nature is repetitiveness Shank seemingly diverts your attention to this detail with various rewards. From characters, to weapons, to achieving medals through completing goals; Shank 2 keeps you ever moving and ever working towards some greater objective. Not to mention the story-line which is engaging even if you didn't play the first game you don't feel alienated from the flow of the story and character development. Some of the many weapons available include: Katana, Chainsaw, Shotgun, Dual Pistols, etc. You also have weapons that can be picked up from your environment or taken from enemies after killing them. For each weapon you have a specific counter attack kill action linked to that weapon which is another nice addition to help forgo the repetitiveness. So there you go; give it a shot, you will probably like it.

Sexy Naked Time???

Time for another Monday blog people; here I was wondering what I should rant about today when the answer seemingly fell right into my lap. There I was chilling at at work, when I overhear some co-workers talking about sex; ever the popular topic. So I pull closer to see if I can't join in on the conversation obviously; so the gist of it was a discussion talking about three things regarding what I like to call sextiquette:

1) Where is the wierdest place to have sex?

2) How do you undress for sex, do you and your partner strip yourselves or strip each other?

3) Do you prefer having sex with an article of clothes (ie. Shoes, watch, underwear, etc.) on or butt naked?

These were the top answers to these questions from my co-workers that got me laughing:

1) Through a grill; yes people a grill, someone was that horny that they couldn't open it to let the person in so they just fucked right through it.

2) Strip myself cause I don't want to get pick pocketed or drop any evidence I was there.

3) Butt naked so that if im caught by someone my nakedness will surprise them and give me time to escape if needed.

With all that being said here are some situations you hopefully don't find yourself in:

Syndicate (initially called Project RedLime) is a science fiction game by Starbreeze Studios, released on February 21, 2012 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. It is a reboot of the Syndicate series developed by Bullfrog Productions in 1993, completely changing the genre from a tactical shooter to an FPS. Syndicate is jam packed with fast paced action that will keep you firmly gripping your controller anticipating the next obstacle to overcome but sadly falls prey to repetition and lack of creativity in some key areas of the game.

In the game, the player can carry two weapons and grenades. Due to the player character's DART 6 bio-chip, the player can see the digital world where time is slowed and see the enemies via X-ray vision. The player can hack into enemies, called "breaching", where players can force three options on the enemy; "Suicide" where the enemy kills themselves and damages nearby foes, "Persuade" where the enemy temporarily becomes the player's ally, or "Backfire" where the enemy's weapon blows up, stunning them. A four-player co-operative mode has been confirmed, with a separate campaign based on missions from the original game. Syndicate will not use an online pass for the co-op modes. Multiplayer games take place in sequenced segments, with resupply points where the next segment begins. After completion, a player is promoted by experience points, which are received for kills, healing squadmates, and completing mission objectives. Certain enemies can also be "chip-ripped" to receive additional bonuses. Also acquired are research points, which can be applied to learn weapon upgrades, and programming changes to the Agent's individual powers.

In this day and age when most game releases are sequels, its good to see some new or revamped IP (Intellectual Property) being released. The industry has become far too complacent with just making sequels to cash in on instead of coming up with new concepts or mechanics for gamers to experience. This may not be the next great idea but its certainly a step in the right direction. If I were to make a general summation of this game to another gamer I would say it is a blend of Crysis and Dues Ex: Human Revolution. Elements of Crysis can be seen in the overlay mode granting the user to slow down time as well as traits from Dues Ex: Human Revolution where ability points can be spent to level up particular attributes that compliment your play style. Even though not a totally new experience Syndicate manages to make the transition from third person tactical game to first person shooter relatively smoothly. Outside of feeling like this game recycled the tried and true futuristic espionage cookie cutter model we are used to seeing it lacked that extra bit of creativity as far as the cinematic kills were concerned. Especially considering all the controversy surrounding the games release in Australia where it was refused classification by the Australian Classification Board. Notwithstanding all this and the lack of a proper aiming cross-hair Syndicate is a fun game to play and at the very least an enjoyable single player experience regardless how short it is. Just take it at face value for its fast paced action and engaging story-line...

Who Picks These Movies??

Hey y'all, it's time for another random Monday blog post. The above picture is an accurate pictorial representation of my opinion of the Oscars, and majority of the movies that were highlighted. Not only did I not know that the Oscars was to be aired but also upon seeing my Twitter and Facebook blow up with status messages about it had not a clue about half the movies being mentioned. Which leads me to wonder if obscurity or vintageness if that is even a word (which I doubt it is FYI) are the main criteria for these nominations. Even though I didn't watch the show between the internet, Twitter, Facebook and any other important social medias one can surmise a pretty good understanding of what took place. The Artist and Hugo seem to be the big show stoppers of the night being nominated for like almost every freaking thing in some shape or form; strange I find it however that I have not heard of any of those shows before. Now I know I may not be a sophisticated cinema goer as some may be, or my taste in movies may be lacking of that nature; but it seems to me that with all the movies that are released in a year we should see that much of the same thing for each category.

Now after watching that trailer I can see that it is in fact probably a pretty good movie; even made more so apparent for the fact that its in black and white and has that artsy fartsy feel to it. Where I have a problem is the fact that in 2011 there were 51 number one box office movie releases not to mention the astounding number of movies that were released on a whole but somehow this one movie managed to be nominated in that many categories. Obviously we all know that Hollywood is in a downward spiral as far as original movie content goes but come on; this is one long ass list of movies that they undoubtedly could have pulled more variety from: 2011 Movie List. The last video is a rundown of most, if not all the awards that were given out. So if you missed the actual show like me you can get a better idea of what I am talking about concerning nominations and winners. Alan Wake is a psychological thriller action game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It was released for the Xbox 360 in May 18, 2010 and Microsoft Windows in February 16, 2012. The story follows bestselling thriller novelist Alan Wake, as he tries to uncover the mystery behind his wife's disappearance during a vacation in the small town of Bright Falls, Washington. All while experiencing events from the plot in his latest novel, which he cannot remember writing, coming to life. The game itself consists of six episodes, and the fiction is continued by two special episodes, titled "The Signal" and "The Writer", that were made available as downloadable content (DLC) within the same year of the game's release, released for free with the PC's Collector's Edition. Alan Wake took over five years to create and this care shows in the pacing and structure, Alan Wake is similar to a thriller television series, with episodes that contain plot twists and cliffhangers.

Alan Wake is one of those games that comes along ever so often and manages to successfully bring something new and thought provoking to the industry. In the game, a "darkness" is taking over humans, animals and objects. Humans possessed by the darkness, called the "Taken", are murderous enemies that attack Wake, wielding weapons of their own, such as mallets and chainsaws. They vary by speed, size, and the amount of damage they can take, and some can even teleport between short distances. Besides the Taken, the player has to combat flocks of ravens, and animated poltergeist objects. This introduces the central dynamic of the game which is the importance of "light", as it is the counter agent that will help you in your journey through the game. As the enemies are protected by a shield of darkness, light plays a significant role in fighting them, while controlling the protagonist in the dark. For example, Taken are initially impervious to attack, and can only be killed or injured with a firearm when exposed to light, which burns away the darkness. Therefore, there is significant emphasis on flashlights and other hand-held lights being used in conjunction with conventional weapons, such as a revolver or a shotgun. The beam of these lights acts as a recticle. Due to the finite nature of both the light available and the potential for ammunition one has to be aware and make the most of ones environment and resources.

Another major element of gameplay is the optional discovery and collection of manuscript pages from Alan Wake's latest "novel" — Departure. Wake does not remember writing this book, but it seems that its storyline is coming to life around him. These readable manuscript pages are scattered around the game world, out of chronological order; therefore, they often describe scenes that have yet to occur and act as warning and instructions for proceeding through upcoming challenges. I really enjoyed playing this game; partly i think because it reminded me so much of this movie I watched a while back called Darkness Falls, check it out if you can its so awesome. Anywhore besides that this game has a big factor of appeal for me because it is so well written and story driven that I could not help but fall in love with this game. More games need to focus on epic storytelling and stop putting all their hopes in online multi-player and DLC (Downloadable Content); get it right the first time and your game will speak volumes for itself in years to come. However nothing can be free of fault and as such my biggest complain is the dodging system; the implementation of this seems haphazard most times and doesn't quite work out the way you hope most times. Nevertheless if you are looking for an thought provoking game to pass the time then look no further than Alan Wake...

What's The Sitch???

Ok; so this has been bugging me for a while now but what exactly is the big deal with females and not liking so called mamma's boys? I mean for the most part this term stemmed from guy's having a so called too close attachment to their mother, but as with most things it has been twisted to encompass a wide variety of situations. My problem with this is trying to understand two factors of this so called momma's boy syndrome:

1) If a guy treats his mom real well and is very loving with her isn't that supposed to be a good sign that a guy will love his partner and treat her with the same emotions? How is that a bad thing? I know there is the whole independent man outlook on life and what not, but when did dwelling on a mans love for his mother become more important than realizing the love he has for his mother.

2) If a guy gets his clothes washed or has his dinner cooked for him by his mom this also gets him branded as a momma's boy at times as well. Keep in mind that its not like he even asks his mom to do these things for him she just does it because he is her son and they have a loving nurturing relationship. If its that big an issue for a woman that she will view him a a momma's boy hen why not take the initiative to do these things in place of his momma to show your love and devotion?

All i'm saying is that at the end of the day depending on the type of household you grow up in us as men are conditioned to look up to our mothers as the ideal example of the qualities of a good woman. This is why we most times look for similar qualities in our partners that were/are present in our mothers. This shouldn't be something that is seen as a weakness of poor quality in a man but instead a precursor as to how highly he values you as an individual as well as a potential partner for life. All you as a woman have to do is live up to or exceed that measurement and as such we will rise to the necessary expectations that you may have of us in comparison or contrast to your father. Well hope I made some sense with my rambling; feel free to leave our comments on the topic or personal experiences as such...

The Effect Of Mass

There will be no plot spoilers in this post. By now you've probably heard that the Mass Effect 3 demo has dropped. This little glimpse will allow players to experience two story missions from the main game as well as engage in the franchise's first attempt at cooperative play. I'm not a Mass Effect fanboy. Hell, I'm not even a Mass Effect fan but i do appreciate it as a spectacular video game franchise worthy of its accolades and fan-base. So with all the hype surrounding this demo release I figured it was the perfect time to see what it had to offer. Mass Effect 3 is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Officially announced on December 11, 2010, the game is scheduled for a March 6, 2012 release and will mark the final chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy of video games, completing the story of Commander Shepard.

Gameplay in Mass Effect 3 will be influenced by decisions from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 and have settings throughout the galaxy, including Earth and Mars. Combat has been changed and refined; in particular, the cover system has been improved, there will be more options for moving around the battlefield, instant melee kills and more conventional grenades will be introduced as well as improved artificial intelligence. There are roughly six classes to choose from. Each class has one character who is immediately playable as well as three additional unlockable characters. Each character is then individually customizable, featuring their own skill trees, gear, color schemes, and upgrades. There will be plenty more to tinker with in the full game, including stages, enemy types, and difficulty.

A four player multiplayer co-op mode will also be available. Play the demo. The co-op is spoiler free, it doesn't cost anything, and it's available to everyone on XBL, PSN, and PC. Even if you're not a Mass Effect fan, this is a fun and surprisingly deep third person shooter experience featuring addictive character progression. If you are a Mass Effect fan, consider this co-op mode bad-ass icing on your awesome cake. Check out the following video for a taste of the demo.

These last two days have been filled with talk of one thing or the other, most notably Whitney Houston's passing and Nicki Minaj's Grammy performance. Unless you have been living under a rock or on an uninhabited island you should know by now that another music icon has passed on as per death dictates. This time the bell tolled for none other than Whitney Houston; most known for her stellar voice and contribution to the world of music both as a female and as an entertainer. Her most notable accolades include the Guinness World Record for the most-awarded female act of all time as well as being the only artist to chart seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Sadly, however she lived a life tainted with the stench of drug abuse and will also be remembered in this light; I recall seeing many a Facebook status dedicated to her memory from random people all over the internet which is all well and dandy but death is a part of life and its not like I see people shouting out the kids in Africa. However people need to not strive to be like these icons but instead better and learn from their mistakes. Nobody probably wants to admit it but at the end of the day she will be remembered as a crack addicted that died from that choice, just like when Michael Jackson passed on and is still remembered for his links to pedophilia and as i'm sure R. Kelly will be remembered as well for peeing on underage girls when he kicks the bucket. Now don't get me wrong i'm all for celebrating the life and times of Whitney Houston, even if I never really listened to her and for the longest time constantly confused her and Lauryn Hill but I feel it was her forage in the music industry that helped make talent like Lauryn Hill's feasible among other female artists. FYI my favorite Whitney song is Your Love Is My Love; just saying... look out for that Greatest Hits album anytime soon.

With that being said let us take a moment to pause and reflect on this video for those who may or may not have seen it; I present to you Nicki Minaj in all her wierdness:

Now as far as I know this is a typical Nicki Minaj performance so I was surprised to see so many people blowing up twitter and Facebook talking about how weird and bad and wrong the performance was. People seem to forget these people are entertainers and as such they go to extravagant lengths to entertain you people so nothing they do should really come as a surprise to you. For all the religious nuts out there spouting this and that saying that it was demonic and what not you are entitled to your opinions no matter how crazy and unfounded they might be even if you are watching a award show for an industry that has been long speculated to have close ties with demonology. Duh.... why are you watching the show and what did you expect.....? Anywhore, that being that hope the show was enjoyed and your favorite artist's managed to win their respected nominations; I'm gonna go find a game to play, see ya'll next week Monday.

Well by the power of grey skull I managed to get a job fresh out of university and a decent one at that which got me my own PS3 finally. Who wants to guess whats the first game I bought...? Yup; Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3; shout-outs to all my friends that lent me their consoles for reviewing games for the blog thankfully I don't have to be a burden to them anymore. This by no means is a new game but more of a revamp or full release of what the first Marvel vs. Capcom 3 should have been initially. Not much to say about this game that has not been said already by other reviewers since it has been out for a while now but lets get to it.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a crossover fighting game developed by Capcom. It is an updated version of Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. After the events of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami disrupted the development schedule for downloadable content for the original game, the additional content was made into a standalone title for a discount retail price. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was released in November 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and will also be featured as a launch title for the PlayStation Vita. The game has currently sold 600,000 units worldwide for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. For the most part many are or have been skeptical about buying this game since it was released so soon after the original many fans feel cheated that they have to pay for basically a brand new game. Bear in mind however with all the changes that were implemented and the conditions that surrounded those changes being made into a full release instead of DLC (Downloadable Content) it's a fair trade off.

Most notable and welcome of the changes made is the inclusion of 12 new characters to the existing roster of 38 fighters spread evenly between the Marvel and Capcom universe. Welcome (as seen in above picture; left to right) Vergil, Strider Hiryu, Nemesis, Frank West, Phoenix Wright, Firebrand, Dr. Strange, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Iron Fist, Rocket Raccoon, And Nova.

Other supplemental changes to the game include: new mode where you can fight using Galactus, button-mashing hyper combos, better online match making and net code, spectator mode for online matches, Heroes and Heralds mode, and a somewhat revamped TAC (Team Aerial Combo) system.

In regards to the online match making and net code I feel the experience is smoother and I find myself in less outright lagging matches than when I initially played Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Couple that with the fact that the game is relatively new there are many people starting out playing so it is a lot easier to find matches for your rank level than compared to the original Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Heroes and Heralds mode provides a new spin on the Marvel vs. Capcom Universe by allowing players to take sides in the battle to save the Earth, either as Team Heroes, who wish to protect the Earth from Galactus, or Team Heralds, who work for Galactus. Team Heralds members are completely silver colored, much like the Silver Surfer because of the cosmic power Galactus gives them. Players customize their teams with three out of 104 cards, which give them special abilities, such as parrying, speed increases, armored assists, and many more effects. The team aerial exchange feature has been altered in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3; players can either remove meter from their opponent's Hyper Combo gauge, add meter to their own gauge, or deal more damage depending on what directional input you press on. The biggest negative change would definitely have to be the HUD (Heads Up Display) for your character life bars. All in all a solid fighting game in this new era of fighting game comebacks

New Beginnings

Hey guys and gals; how's it been hanging? Been a while since we sat and had a lil' chat huh? Welcome to the first blog post of 2012; figured I took a long enough break from blog writing to get settled into my new environment and moving to a new city. Hopefully y'all missed me as much as I missed you; today marks the beginning of the 2012 blog post cycle that will see the usual random blog posts on Mondays and game reviews on Fridays. So seeing as how we are just getting back into the swing of things, we are going to be easing back into delivering content that you people love so much; starting with today's post about the corporate world. I promised a reader I was going to try and see if I can't write some short blogs this year because I realize not everyone has the affinity to sit and read my posts straight through even if I throw in the occasional picture or video. So basically I just got my first official job working in the corporate world, it has been a big deal for me being fresh out of University and everything since i'm only used to being an entrepreneur of sorts or doing freelance work here and there. The whole experience to be honest has been an eye opening and frightening ordeal to say the least. Then again, most if not all experiences are frightening; stepping out of your comfort shell and venturing into the unknown. One would think that a big corporation would not be susceptible to things such as disorganization considering that they are big and accomplished but its actually the opposite.

The simple truth which is ironic at the same time is that the business world is more or less exactly like whichever school environment you left from most recently with the small difference of you being paid to be there instead of you paying to be there as with school. You have cliques and hierarchies just the same and above all everyone is more or less responsible for their performance. You would think everyone should be looking out for one another to ensure that the system works smoothly and work is done. Sadly, this is not the case instead everyone is ensure their own work is done so that they cannot be held accountable if shit hits the fan; they weren't kidding when they said "its a dog eat dog world out there". All in all though, no matter what hardships you encounter their are two things you should think on to comfort you: 1) Work Experience & 2) The Money. No matter what happens at the end of it all these are the two things that make the utmost of importance to your existence. The work experience will make your appeal better both inside and outside the company, bundled with the fact that having your own money to make the world go round in whichever way you please is never a bad thing. Well that's just my opinionated rambling, feel free to tell me in the comments of your own work experiences or views; until then i'm going to go play my newly acquired PS3 (yeah that's that money thing i was mentioning before ^_^)

Awesome Awards Of 2011

Well its the end of the year and we have challenged and overcome many a video game in our time together; we have had our ups and downs but still managed to bring you quality entertainment and opinions to make the most of your time and budget for gaming. As we close off the year with this final blog let us take a look at the top ten games of 2011...

1.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - You had to see this coming; the single most talked about and hyped game for the year. They left the best for last releasing this game in the later half of the year. Skyrim's main story revolves around the player character's efforts to defeat Alduin, the firstborn of Tamriel's primary deity Akatosh.

2.
Portal 2 - This seems like it was quite the year for sequels on a whole and one game that rises above all others is undoubtedly Portal 2. Like Portal, Portal 2 primarily comprises a series of puzzles that must be solved by teleporting the player's character and simple objects using the "portal gun", a device that can create inter-spatial portals between two flat planes.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds - Without a doubt making an entrance after 10 years Marvel vs. Capcom solidified the comeback of the fighting game genre for the year 2011. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a fighting game where up to two players compete in battle using characters with their own unique fighting styles and special attacks.

Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception - Uncharted 3 provided an equal if not slightly better experience than its predecessor and went a long way to continue its legacy of excellence on the PS3 as one of it's premiere games. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective, with the player in control of Nathan Drake.

Bastion - One game that I really wanted more people to take note of that I feel didn't get enough of a hype surrounding it but was definitely worth the play-through. Players take control of The Kid, a silent protagonist who awakens on one of the few remaining pieces of the old world and sets off for the titular Bastion, where everyone agreed to go in troubled times.

Bulletstorm - This game was painstakingly fun; when I say painstakingly I just mean there were so many ways to kill people that it was painstakingly fun trying to accomplish them all. As a first-person shooter, Bulletstorm focuses on combat, both with firearms and melee attacks. There are a variety of fictional firearms available, although the game also places heavy emphasis on kicking enemies and using the energy leash.

Trine 2 - I'm not much for puzzle games and I most certainly had some frustrating times playing but the major redeeming value of this game is the co-op mode that makes it unbelievably fun. Trine 2 is a puzzle platform video game, requiring the player to use the skills of the three characters, Amadeus the wizard, Zoya the thief, and Pontius the knight, to cross each game level.

Alice Madness Returns - Its been a long time since I found a game that really sucked me in and kept me playing; i'm talking those moments of starting to play at night and then suddenly realizing its morning already. Alice: Madness Returns is a third-person action-adventure game. The player controls Alice for the entirety of the game for running, jumping, dodging and attacking.

Saint's Row: The Third - Anyone who knows video games knows that Grand Theft Auto is in a class of its own but somehow Saint's Row: The Third manages to take that model and make it unbelievably more fun. The Third retains the blend of third-person action and driving sequences in open world, urban warfare format that is traditional in the Saints Row series. The player, as the leader of the Third Street Saints, can explore the city of Steelport, performing main missions that progress the game's story, and side missions.

Battlefields 3 - All in all EA did a pretty decent job trying to take on the juggernaut that is the Call Of Duty franchise. For this among other things such as stellar graphics, vehicular combat and massive 64 player maps, Battlefields 3 gets the final spot on our top ten games of 2011 list. Battlefield 3 features the combined arms battles that made the series popular across single-player, co-operative and multiplayer modes. It reintroduces several elements absent from the Bad Company games, including fighter jets, the prone position and 64-player battles on PC.

Well that's my list of games for 2011 that I feel deserved the most mention; I tried to spread around the love and not only choose games from the final quarter of the year but we all know the game industry saves most of the really good stuff for last. Hope you took note and found something or everything to your liking and decide to try out any of the games on the list. Honorable mentions on the handheld console side of things are Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy for the PSP along with Pokémon Black Version and White Version for the Nintendo 3DS. Guys I am like so tired; between work and trying to find a place to live in the city for my new job I been burning the candle at both ends. Sorry if the quality you are used to isn't what it used to be but I am trying to go through some adjustments to my review style among other things so please try to bear with me. Today we are checking out Trine 2; a puzzle/platforming game brought to us by the wonderful people at Frozenbyte. It is the sequel to Trine and was released on Windows, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade on December 7, 2011.

The adventure begins with our three heroes, the thief, the knight and the wizard, rediscovering the Trine which then brings them back together. They then decide to travel on a journey to save the kingdom from evil goblins and other fiends. The game is your usual platforming game but with a twist; each level has a barrage of puzzles setup through out the course of the level that you have to figure the best way to get around, whether to collect all the magic orbs or just to progress through the level.. The player controls and switches between three different characters (a thief, a knight, and a wizard) to try to complete levels. There is also a cooperative play feature, whereby multiple players can join in at any time to control different characters simultaneously.
Each character has their own health and energy meter. Energy is used for certain weapons and abilities, and is replenished by blue-colored bottles found throughout levels. Health is replenished by collecting heart-shaped containers, which result from destroying certain enemies.

Zoya the Thief

The thief's weapon is her bow and arrow. The bow can be "charged" by holding down the fire button before releasing, and longer charges make for farther, straighter shots. The thief also has a grappling hook which can be fired at certain surfaces. Regular arrows and the grappling hook are unlimited, and do not diminish the thief's energy. The thief's possible upgrades include shooting more arrows with each shot, faster charging of the bow, and more damage inflicted with the flaming arrow.

Pontius the Knight

The knights initial weapons are his sword and shield. The knight also acquires a sledgehammer. The knight has the ability to lift certain objects and hurl them. His shield can be used to deflect enemy attacks, as well as falling objects and projectiles. The knight's possible upgrades include additional sword damage, charging attacks, and additional sledgehammer attacks.

Amadeus the Wizard

The wizard has the ability to use sorcery to move objects remotely, as well as conjure new objects into existence. Initially, the wizard is only able to conjure a cube-shaped object. Conjured objects are primarily used to help overcome obstacles and reach difficult areas. All conjuring and remote moving drains the wizard's energy. The wizard has no traditional attacks, however he can crush certain enemies by hurling objects into them. He can also block attacks by conjuring or moving objects in their path.

Be forewarned, this game has its moments where you will find yourself dumbfounded as to how to progress through a level even with the timely hints that may occur to help you. The main selling points for this game are the visuals, the co-op play and the ease of use for the characters. Personally my favorite character was the thief as she greatly resembles Altair from the Assassins Creed franchise but for versatility sake the best character would probably be the wizard even though his major flaw is his lack of basic attacks. No doubt the more people you have over to play the better as many hands make work light so the puzzles should be easier to solve with more people analyzing them. None of the games puzzle has only one solution so the solutions can range from as simple, to as complicated and imaginative as you so desire.

MAN Is Actually Spelled MYAN

What makes a MAN? A simple yet complicated question with answers that have changed from generation to generation based on our societal values and changes. Today I feel like talking a bit about this; first of all let me inform you of something you probably didn't know; MAN is actually spelled MYAN but the Y is silent and invisible so no one ever uses it. MYAN is actually an acronym and not a word; as it stands for Muscular Yet Authoritative & Nice. So see you are already learning something new and we haven't even started the bitching and moaning. To further understand this concept let me introduce a term called the "Alpha Male"; an alpha male is the top-ranking animal in a social group. Some animals live in a social structure where the more powerful male in the group is decided by either simple play-fights or even very aggressive battles. The current alpha male must defend his ranking from younger members. When he is too old or not strong enough to win, he loses his position in the group. The result of this is that the alpha male usually has more opportunity to mate with the available females. This system developed because strong males will produce young which have a better chance for survival. As silly as it may seem we humans fall into this characteristic; even if not to the exact literal meaning of the term.

Since the dawn of time there has always been this stereotype of being the best *cue Pokémon theme song in your mind* but it was never really explained or taught it was just an inane desire to be better than your fellow man; whether it was for being the better huntsman, craftsman, sportsman, etc. Coincidentally enough these roles all end with the word man but I digress; over the years many characteristics of being a man have come and gone but there are some widely accepted that remain true to this day. There is no such thing as a perfect man but if you can manage to have at least half or more of these traits then you are well secure in your manhood and your role in society or at the very least are guaranteed to procreate. So let's go through this little old list of mine and see what traits are needed for one to be more of an Alpha Male:

Confidence aka Pretty Boy Swag - This is quintessential element that is of utmost importance as it give a man a fighting chance in comparison to other men. You could be severely lacking in many other areas but if you have the confidence to pull it off then you will undoubtedly command the attention of others around you. Aesthetically pleasing - This speaks to the physical looks of the male being a strong healthy looking individual. This can range from meaning superficially in relation to clean skin or a muscular build to having good genealogy to ensure the birth of more dominant males/females to add to our society to strengthen the evolution of our species. Nice - Who doesn't like a nice guy? Whether you are looking for one to take advantage of or one to genuinely be there for you nice guys are a somewhat rare and valued commodity typically associated with chivalry. However, in it lies a paradox of sorts because even though it's good to be a nice guy, no one takes a nice guy who tries to please everyone seriously and this leads to the taking advantage of that I mentioned previously. So it is up to you to find the balance between nice guy and bad boy. In keeping with the theme watch this video for further illustration -

Honest - As a very famous and iconic figure once said "All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break them for no one." A true man knows and practices this mentality as these are the two things we are born into this world with and leave this world with. As such they are to be taken very seriously and never misused or abused. Our word is our bond and our pride as men should never allow us to fall short of upholding that bond and sense of pride. Just so you know, no male can truly call himself a man and not have watched this movie; just saying. You know the drill by now -

Resourceful - For most of the earth's natural history, men have been the dominant race that spearheaded the future of the species and took on that role of ensuring that things happen as needed. Whether it was foraging for food, creating a renaissance, leading a revolution or boldly going where no man has gone before on the final frontier (Star Trek reference). A man needs to have the resourcefulness to accomplish goals; simply put he exercises his will to find a way. So many videos to choose from so little time -

Well here we are gathered again for another video game review; the surge of video game releases is slowing down so that means more time for games. Sadly however I now work full time at my parents shop so I have been keeping some very odd hours. So my humblest apologies for the lack of up-to-date internet/gaming news you all maybe have become accustomed to. Let me go on record saying that I am currently running on about 4 hours of sleep as of typing this up so please any incoherent rambling that may ensue. So today we will be talking about my latest time wasting infatuation Fate/Extra. Fate/Extra is a Japanese dungeon role-playing game for the PlayStation Portable, created by Type-Moon and Image Epoch and published by Marvelous Entertainment. The game takes place in a parallel universe to the visual novel Fate/stay night which I initially thought this game would be more closely related to. However it certainly did not disappoint as I currently have about 70+ hours invested in my character trying to grind experience to level her up and make her overpowered so she kills enemies quickly.

Fate/Extra is a RPG (Roleplaying Game) that starts with the player Waking up in a strange virtual world with no recollection of the past, the main character finds themselves forced to fight for survival in a war they do not understand for a prize beyond value; the opportunity to have one’s wish granted. With only an enigmatic “Servant” by their side, the protagonist will have to face both friends and foes in battles to the death in order to not only gain possession of a mysterious object known as the “Holy Grail,” but also to find the answer to the most important question of all: “Who am I? However in reality the game includes a prologue of sorts that helps the player to get accustomed to the characters in the school and the surroundings. After a week has passed playing in the shoes of an indeterminate character certain events take place that effectively start the true story behind the game.

At the start of the game, the player may choose to play as either a male or female character, as well as selecting one of three Servants — Saber, Archer, or Caster, each with different strengths and weaknesses. The way I see it they also represent the difficulty level you will experience from boss battles and such. Saber being the easiest and most straight forward character to play compared to Caster who is more technical to play. Players spend one in-game "week" interacting with other characters, viewing scenes that advance the game's story, while completing side quests and clearing dungeons to level up and obtain what are referred to as Cipher keys for entrance into the final battle at the end of each week. To end each day, you enter the Arena and choose a dungeon to enter, a dungeon in which you can battle monsters to gain experience points and strengthen your Servant. Servants' stats are raised manually using skill points gained upon leveling up. It is highly recommended that you talk to your Servant in their room, and use the clues you have discovered to discern the identity of the enemy Servant before going off to fight them. At the end of each week is a decisive battle against the enemy Servant and Master, after which the player progresses to the next round of the tournament-style war.

The game's turn-based battle system is comparable to janken (rock-paper-scissors) -- "Attack" overpowers "Break", Break overpowers "Guard", and Guard overpowers Attack. During battle, both the player and the opponent line up six such moves at the beginning of each turn. Landing three successful hits allows use of an "extra attack" that cannot be countered. Most types of enemies have their own distinctive attack patterns, which enables you to make educated guesses at times. As you progress and fight the same monster multiple times you will unlock additional information on the enemy. This information uncovers more and more moves of the enemy until you can see them all to make appropriate counter picks. This will allow the player Servant to deal high amounts of damage while receiving minimal damage in return. Coupled with this are three other noteworthy aspects of the combat system; Equipment, Skills and Codecasts that help to bring a further dynamic to the game. The final bonus I would like to touch on is the replay factor of this game and the fact that it literally has game over screens that reset your progress to your most recent save state. This forces the player to not only have multiple save states but also to but a lot of thought into the choices he/she may make throughout the course of the game and how it will affect their play-through. If you are a fan of the anime series or RPG's you will want to check this game out; it has a solid story line, high replay-ability and a simple yet potentially combat system to enjoy.

So as you can tell if you follow us on Twitter or Facebook its been a jam packed couple of weeks both professionally and personally.November is a pretty busy time of year for the video game industry and as such you guys get more content to skim through to decide what games to spend your time on. That takes care of the professional aspect; personally I have been back home with my folks helping get the new family business up and running so I been a bit less vigilant with my gaming news, reviews and internet randomness. Assassin's Creed: Revelations is a video game in the Assassin's Creed franchise developed and published by Ubisoft Montreal. The game was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 15, 2011. For Microsoft Windows, the game is delayed until December 2, 2011. Throughout the course of the game, the three protagonists from the previous games are featured: Ezio, Altair, and Desmond. It has been announced that it is the last game to feature Ezio Auditore da Firenze and the final game to be set in the Renaissance era. The game follows the series' standard open-world gameplay. New gameplay additions include an item called the hookblade, which can be used to zipline across the city or grab enemies to yank them in for a combo attack. The hookblade reportedly speeds up navigation by around 30 percent. Along with the hook-blade, Ezio also has 300 different bomb variations at his disposal which are to be crafted. In terms of customization and versatility, this Assassin's Creed game is the most verse delivering a barrage of ways for the player to shape and sculpt himself as an assassin.

The multiplayer function is protected by the Uplay Passport system on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 which requires a code for access. Codes are included in all new copies of the game, but are tied to a single Uplay account. This means that players who purchased their copy second hand, will need to purchase a new code to access the multiplayer. Codes are available for purchase from within the game menu. This is a seemingly growing trend with most games as a means to fight against piracy and make extra money off the sales of used games as a whole. Whether good or bad, only time will tell as more games seek out better means of protecting their itellectual property.

This game is worth the time, effort and money that you will end up spending on it. The game is a very successful franchise and well presented in its entirety. The game itself and its fan-base has grown exponentially with each iteration and is a testament to the appeal of the franchise. From the character development, to the combat system, to the story progression these are just a few of the many notable things about the Assassin's Creed franchise. This is also evident in the fan service given with their release of many packaged variants of the game. There are several different limited editions of Assassin's Creed Revelations. The Animus, Collector's and Special editions are available on all platforms and only available in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, while the Signature Edition and The Ultimate Bundle is only available in North America through GameStop for all platforms.

The story is a prequel to the video game Assassin's Creed II. It centres around the father of the game's main character Ezio Auditore de Firenze. Giovanni is an assassin living during the Renaissance in 15th century Italy. At this dawn of a new era, a conspiracy is being plotted by one corrupt family to overthrow the powerful Medici family and destroy a unified Italy. As an assassin, Giovanni must face this threat and bring justice. The story introduces the situation before Assassin's Creed II, and the enemies of both characters.

Whew; man its been a pretty busy month with all these games coming out and begging to be played. Hell i'm running out of hard drive space on my PC so lets check another game off the list as we move on to the next one. This week we are checking out DC Universe Online (DCUO); a MMORPG that recently made the switch from the pay to play business model to free to play (F2P). DC Universe Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) set in the DC Universe. Which for those who may not know is a superhero franchise similar to Marvel where you have your Spiderman, Ironman, Thor, Captain America etc. You will probably know most of those from recent movies or such but for more information regarding the DC side of things click the link...(DC Universe)

SOE is working to make DC Universe Online more interactive than standard MMORPGs, while trying to keep their key elements which include a leveling system, raid instances, endgame progression and inventories. The player can choose to create their character for the PVE (player versus environment) server or the PVP (player versus player) server at the start of the game depending which they prefer more. The world is mainly shared, public space instead of heroes or villains owning territory. The public space features dynamically-generated content designed for both hero and villain player characters. Players will choose a mentor for their character (Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman for heroes and Lex Luthor, The Joker, or Circe for villains). Their starting location, principal quest rewards and mob loot will be influenced by that decision. The starting zones are either Metropolis or Gotham City, for both heroes and villains. Each character is given a communicator appropriate to their faction, via which they receive urgent communications from their mentor and his/her colleagues and subordinates; heroes will frequently receive status updates from Oracle, while villains will receive data from The Calculator. In addition to assignments from their mentor, player characters may also receive requests for help from other mentors of the same faction. Player characters may also accept missions from non-player characters (NPCs) in the street, usually minor characters from their faction. There are also opportunities for quick street encounters appropriate to the character's faction. All NPC interactions are fully animated and voice-acted. Player characters will earn threat ratings that will cause NPC heroes and villains to interact accordingly with the character.

So even though DCUO is another MMORPG in a sea of many others which are already F2P we can see from just a brief introduction that it has a lot to offer to the player. Typically a good sign that a game is worth your time is the size of the game itself as far as content and things to do are concerned. This certainly delivers in that regard as of posting this blog it has an installation of roughly 18 GB's so you will probably want to clear up some serious hard drive space for this game if you are gonna take it for a spin. The skill tree and usage is typical of most MMORPGS where you assign skills to varying buttons and have combinations of skills that can be chained in whatever order you desire. It however expands on this by having great emphasis placed on what power is chosen when you create your character, as a player's Powers determine the player's abilities, combat strategy and role in groups. Each power has two ability trees that the player can specialize in. One tree focuses on DPS (Damage Per Second) attack, and the other focuses on the character's alternate role (Controller, Tank, Healer). Players get 1 point to spend in powers every even level for a total of 15 at level 30, which is currently the level cap.

As with all MMORPG's, there is a certain level of regret involved with playing as you wont know exactly what may be the best skill tree or which moves to power up over other but that is half the fun, I think just choosing what you like to suit your own personal play style. However for those of you that value that way of thinking and want to be the very best like no one ever was, feel free to check out http://dcuniverseonline.wikia.com for any info regarding the game. I would also recommend joining the community forums for the game at http://www.dcuniverseonline.com/ to check out some character guides from other players. On of the more interesting things about this game would probably be that it is playable on console which I think is something that is really common in the world of MMORPG's so that is something noteworthy. Due to this though its play on PC feels somewhat limited as the basic controls feel kind of tacked on to compensate for the console version of the game but that just could be me being paranoid. Another shortcoming of the game is the low level cap and lack of end-game content but this is to be expected as the game is relatively new and still in its growing/establishing stages as a MMORPG. When compared to the likes of longstanding games such as World of Warcraft and Everquest one can see there is much plausible room for growth given the breadth and history of the DC universe. All in all its a fun game to try out for anyone with an interest in superheros or comic book lore on a whole. Hell you can't exactly argue with the fact that its free to play now can you; in the first week of changing over to free to play they received over 1 million new sign ups. Need I say more...

Well another day, another blog post; November has been one busy month, trying to keep up with all these epic games and getting them out there to you guys to decide what you wanna try out. Today we will be taking a look at the somewhat over the top open world action-adventure game Saint's Row : The Third. Saints Row: The Third (also known as Saints Row 3) is an open world action-adventure video game developed by Volition, Inc. and published by THQ. It was released on November 15th, 2011 in Australia and North America, and was released on November 18th, 2011 in Europe for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is the third title in the Saints Row series after the release of Saints Row 2 in 2008. As in Saints Row 2, the player controls the leader of the Third Street Saints.

So seeing as this is the third installment in the franchise one would imagine there is a bit of a back-story to this game. Having defeated all their rivals in Stilwater at the end of Saints Row 2, the Saints have turned their street gang into a media empire after merging with the Ultor Corporation. They have since become icons across the world, with their own energy drink, a large fanbase, and a movie deal in the works. The game starts off in a bank robbery scenario where we get introduced to some of the major protagonists in the game. When things take a turn for the worst, the cinematic cut-scene ends and the player jumps in to experience the awesomeness that is Saints Row: The Third.

Saints Row: The Third retains the blend of third-person action and driving sequences in open world, urban warfare format that is traditional in the Saints Row series. The player can explore the city of Steelport performing main missions that progress the game's story as well as side missions. The side missions boast a wide variety of missions that will keep even the most determined player busy. Successful completion of missions can earn the player rewards such as money, weapons, cars, and gang respect. The Third uses respect as experience points for their character leveling system which the player can then spend to improve thier overall character playthrough experience. The player selects these attributes, or 'perks', each time the player character is leveled-up. Money can be used to purchase clothing items, weapons and cars, or may be used to upgrade weapons and cars with unique features. Money is of major importance in this game and can also used to purchase shops and other properties within Steelport. This in turn will become a steady stream of income for the gang over time. In addition to the single-player mode, the game can be played co-operatively with one other player. Previously in Saints Row 2, the second player could participate in all missions and activities, earning credit for their completion. Certain activities provide different rules when a second player is present; for example, in the Tiger Escort activity, the second player will have to control the tiger in the backseat while the first player drives. Due to their focus on the single player and co-operative experience, Volition has removed competitive multiplayer from the title.

The level of customization in this game is astounding and refreshing, really giving you the feeling of being in an open world environment. I should also make mention of the QTE (Quick Time Events) that occur from time to time coupled with the branching story arcs that take place really provide a high replay-ability factor for this game. I have said so much and so little all at the same time but the above video gives you a pretty solid run through of just how great this game is. It will most definitely fill the void that GTA IV has left us with while tiding us over as well till we get our hands on GTA V. Fun does not even remotely begin to express what you will experience playing this game; it has certainly perfected the art of open world gaming in its own right. You can clearly see there is a lot to get done in this game so you should get started playing as soon as you can. Welcome to another video game review here on Zalgo Cometh. Today we will be looking at the much hyped and newly released Need for Speed - The Run (NFS: The Run) available on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and Apple Macintosh. Personally as a fan of this series, I look forward to each NFS game yearly with as much hope and anticipation as any COD fan looks forward to each yearly installment. I definitely know what i'm going to be giving thanks for at Thanksgiving this year. The game is described as "An illicit, high-stakes race across the country. The only way to get your life back is to be the first from San Francisco to New York. No speed limits. No rules. No allies. All you have are your driving skills and sheer determination". NFS: The Run marks the 18th installment in its long illustrious gaming franchise; it was released in North America on November 15, 2011 and will be released on November 18, 2011 in Europe.

Tell me that wasn't some heart pumping, fast paced, non stop action; this could no doubt easily pass for a multi-million dollar box office movie trailer. In The Run, players will participate in a race from San Francisco to New York, with stops through Las Vegas, Denver, Detroit, and many other locations, making it the first title in the series to use real locations. There are over 300 km of track, making it the biggest Need For Speed game in history. The Run is powered by DICE's Frostbite 2 engine, making the game the first non-shooter and one of the first console titles to use the engine which provides amazing visuals and car physics. Additionally, the Autolog feature from Shift 2: Unleashed; is also back as it will continue to track career progression and compare game stats between players. Lets take a look at the modes we got this time around...

The Run is your single player campaign mode that takes through the story of Jack Rourke. After an incident leaves him in bad standing with a mysterious crime organization, Jack becomes a marked man and must flee for his survival. Along the way the player will experience varying race types that will facilitate their victory path to the number one spot and that grand prize of twenty five million dollars.

Challenge Series is mostly self explanatory as you are "challenged" to complete a set of races using varying cars in the aim to unlock more cars to choose from in the game. Most the challenges are locked but can be unlocked by beating the stages of the single player campaign. These cars can then be used in the campaign as well to give the player a better chance.

Multi-player is also self explanatory, you take your skills online in head to head competition against other players the world over. Up to 16 players can participate in a single online match. Players will be able to party with friends, pick a playlist of their favorite challenges and compete for supremacy across every stage of game.

Ok, lets get down to the nitty gritty; firstly congratulations to Electronic Arts and Blackbox for their outstanding work on this game. NFS: The Run goes a long way in restoring faith in the franchise as the number one street racing game and a franchise worth following. This is without a doubt the best iteration of the series since Need For Speed Most Wanted in 2005. I would go as far as saying this is the path that the NFS franchise should have gotten on and stayed on, instead of giving us more simulation closed circuit racing as was the like in Shift and Shift 2. This game rectifies many of the mistakes and grievances that fans of the series had; namely the whole theme of illegal racing and the no holds barred nature of the street racing scene. That being said, Electronic Arts still has to go back to the drawing board and do some more fine tuning along the way to return the series to its former glory.

The main focus of this game should have been the excellent story with its memorable protagonist but instead the single player campaign feels cheated as more effort was clearly made to push the integration of Autolog and the NFS Online community as a whole. While I understand the reasoning behind this, I am still an advocate for single player campaigns as not everyone tends to experience and enjoy the online experience of most games. As such, I think it is fundamental that every game boast a solid and rewarding single player experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the story mode and will most definitely be playing it again. I have to finish going through the challenge series and unlock everything first though. However I definitely am upset that the story mode is short enough to be beaten in 3-6 hours depending on the game difficulty setting and the player's skill level. Blackbox could have done a lot more with the story-line in terms of depth but its definitely a damn good step in the right direction because I was hooked and had to pry myself away from playing the game to get some sleep as per orders of my girlfriend. Now with my major gripe out of the way lets look at the game as a whole.

Pro's: Excellent driving physic and engine, realistic graphics and texture, competitively fun multi-player experience with friends, smooth online racing experience, vast array of cars to choose from, numerous tracks to conquer, and quick time events that keep us engaged and immersed in the game.

Con's: Shortness of campaign mode, awkward slow down instances after taking down a police vehicle, lack of semi-automatic transmission, going through race barriers and automatically using up a reset, lack of customization of vehicles, and random wreckage factor of vehicles in game.

This seems to be the year of reviving franchises for video games; from Mortal Kombat to Duke Nukem we are seeing and hearing of game rebirths all over the industry, but no one really saw this one coming. Today we take a trip back in time to the days of Mario's number one rival; Sonic the Hedgehog. Newly released game Sonic Generations is a 2011 platform video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, produced by Sonic Team for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and Nintendo 3DS. It celebrates the 20th anniversary of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game and was released by Sega.

The game features levels derived from 20 years of Sonic history, spreading across three eras: Classic, Dreamcast and Modern, which are played as either Classic Sonic or Modern Sonic. Classic Sonic's levels are strictly two dimensional side scrolling stages, using classic moves like the Spin Attack and Spin Dash, while Modern Sonic's levels follow a gameplay style similar to more recent entries in the series. The console versions utilize the 2D/3D style gameplay of Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors, whilst the 3DS version will use the 2D gameplay of the Sonic Rush series, both featuring techniques such as boosting and homing attacks. Classic power-ups such as Invincibility and Speed Shoes are also present, even though certain levels have unique power-ups, such as skateboards in City Escape and Wisp powers in Planet Wisp. Each zone consists of a main act for each Sonic, as well as several side-missions with various challenges such as beating an opponent to the goal. A Skill Shop allows players to use points earned from high scores to unlock upgrades such as abilities, shields, and even the original Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis game. Completing challenges, as well as finding Red Star Rings hidden in each of the main Acts, unlocks additional skills, as well as bonus artwork and music.

So as I said before you get to play through this game as either old or new sonic as I like to call them. Personally I preferred playing as new sonic because he has more maneuverability than old Sonic; however old Sonic is way easier to play because of his lack of move options. I found myself doing way better on the levels using old Sonic even though I had more fun running around as New Sonic. This game is something I both love and hate because I am a sucker for a good platforming game; as they aren't very common these days in the age of RPG's (Role-playing Game) and FPS (First-person Shooter) games, etc. No matter if you are a fan or not, you will most definitely find the ease of play and fun factor of this game engaging. The story is more or less your typical experience of rescuing your friends and defeating the bad guy; but it is still an engaging experience making your way through out the game. Seeing both versions of Sonic interacting and existing side by side is a real treat, and a testament to the staying power of a good franchise, as well as the changes it can go through. I recommend this game to any and all gamers; definitely giving this game to my girlfriend to play...

Guess who's back? Did ya guess? Huh, huh, huh? It's me your friendly neighborhood gamer with another video game review for you here on In The Mind Of My Mind. Been a bit of a rough relocation of sorts, my internet is slow as hell now so uploading video game footage to our youtube channel is a pain not to mention been going to job interviews so been pretty busy. However, gaming prevails as it is a priority and will always be so the fight must go on to bring you all the gaming related and non related content that is possible. So lets take a look at the highly anticipated Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and do the obvious comparison to Battlefield 3 which we reviewed 2 weeks or so ago.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (abbreviated as Call of Duty: MW3, CoD: MW3 or simply MW3) is a first-person shooter video game, developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, with Raven Software having assisted in development. It is the third installment in the Modern Warfare series, a direct sequel to 2009's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and the eighth Call of Duty installment. It goes without saying that this franchise has come a long way over the years and as such has garnered a massive following, this is mostly due to three major factors: ease of play, multi-player experience, and the multi-faceted multi-player play-styles coupled with a leveling system similar to that of an RPG (Role Playing Game). Within 24 hours of going on sale, the game sold 4 million copies in the US and UK alone, 6.5 millions globally; so that's a pretty strong fan-base. Lets take a look at call of duty over the years for those who don't know, and those who feel like a stroll down memory lane...

So in-case you didn't feel like sitting through the aforementioned video, the cliff-notes version is this: industry changing game , steadily improved upon, shifted focus from single player game-play to multi-player, introduced industry changing multi-player gaming and stats tracking that many fans know and love to this day, continues to be a highly valued yearly released video game franchise with minors tweaks each year. The main question on everyone's mind is if they will bring us another industry changing game or will they continue to milk the old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it? Well Infinity Ward seems to definitely like that money in their pockets, as they should because money is what makes the gaming world go round. As always in recent history they deliver a fairly solid campaign mode, bringing back fan favorites from Modern Warfare 2 such as Soap Mactavish. Sadly, it is more or less of the same that we have seen before in Modern Warfare 2 and grown accustomed to with the CoD franchise; because in all honesty majority of player play this game for the multi-player.

Multi-player sees also the inclusion of Survival mode. This game mode features one or two players fighting endless waves of enemies, with each wave becoming increasingly difficult. Despite being much compared to the World at War Nazi Zombies mode, enemies do not spawn at fixed locations like the zombies do; instead, they appear at tactical positions based on the current location of the player. The mode is available on all multiplayer maps in the game. In the mode, players earn "cash" for items such as weapons, upgrades, ammo, air/ground support and equipment. The entire Killstreak reward system has been revamped. Killstreaks are now known as Pointstreaks, and kills are no longer the only way to increase the player's Pointstreak. Completing objectives such as planting the bomb in Search and Destroy or capturing a flag in Capture The Flag awards points towards the player's Pointstreak. Pointstreak rewards are organized into three different "strike packages" called Assault, Support, and Specialist. The Assault strike package works the same as the Killstreak reward system in Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops, offering rewards like the Predator drone and attack helicopters. The Support strike package offers support-style rewards, such as UAVs and SAM Turrets. Rewards from the Support category do not reset when the player dies, but accumulate over the course of a match. The Specialist strike package rewards players with perks of their choosing after every second consecutive kill. After eight kills, they receive every perk in the game, but reset back to none upon death. Players are allowed to choose which Pointstreak rewards they want to use when they gain it during the match, rather than choosing them between rounds. Along with revamping the entire Killstreak reward system, Modern Warfare 3 also has a completely modified Ranking and Unlocks system, which does not use a currency system for unlocks.

The big question on everyone's mind from day one that these games release dates were announced, which game is superior? In all fairness there is no clear cut winner in this regard; as there are far too many variables and arguable points that would essentially boil down to personal opinion. The simple matter is if you are a fan, you are going to love all that MFW3 brings to the table and if you are not, you will probably enjoy playing BF3 more; simply because they are polar opposites. If you are the lone gun man type that loves instant player versus player run and gun action then MW3 is right up your alley. However if your play style lies more in the strategic team based experience you would probably be better suited playing BF3. Trying to not take sides is hard but the simple matter of it is Modern Warfare wins in the multi-player fun aspect between the two. At times the level of play required can be daunting and you are more focused on just staying alive compared to actually having fun in BF3. In the end personally I give it up to BF3 as the more total package for any gamers out there wondering which game to go for if they can't get both.

Hi Fans and Haters new and old; welcome to another video game review here on Zalgo Cometh. Sad to say this might be my last video game review with play-through commentary for you guys for a while since i'm going to be relocating soon but in the pursuit of gaming I will try to make the best of it and make it work. Worse case scenario there will be no more MNATM downloads and no video game play-throughs but there will still be content posted to our Facebook page and Twitter. Now that the boring stuff is out of the way lets jump into our game of choice for today; Battlefield 3.

Battlefield 3 (commonly abbreviated to BF3) is a first-person shooter action video game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts. Battlefield 3 features the maximalist combined arms battles that made the series popular across single-player, co-operative and multiplayer modes. It reintroduces several elements absent from the Bad Company games, including fighter jets, the prone position and 64-player battles on PC. To accommodate the lower player count on consoles, the ground area will be limited for Xbox 360 and PS3, though fly space will remain the same. The single player campaign is regrettable short but this is to be expected as this game focuses more on the multi-player portion of your gaming experience. The story revolves around a terrorist attack that is about to take place and the events that lead up to it.

Battlefields 3 uses a new graphical engine called Frostbite 2. The next generation of Frostbite has debuted with Battlefield 3. It takes full advantage of the DirectX 11 API and 64-bit processors, with no support for DirectX 9 (nor, therefore, Windows XP). It also features enhanced in-game destruction with Destruction 3.0, creating more refined physics than its predecessor. Battlefield 3 has two major selling points; the beautiful graphics and environmental damage in game as well as the immense multi-player maps that hold up to 64 players at any instance. Many people are drawing comparisons between the COD franchise and Battlefield 3 as one would expect since they are more or less competing rivals, but to me the difference is is as clear as night and day. COD has seemingly always been the arcade military shooter of choice and Battlefield has seemingly taken up the mantle of being the simulation military shooter of choice. EA has surely yet again delivered a masterpiece of a game that is poised to be called the game of the year by many. I highly recommend both fans and haters (COD fanboys), to play this game and immerse yourself in the gaming experience it offers as you will not be disappointed. Its been a while since we reviewed a PSP title so today we are looking at Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Impact. Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Impact is to be released in North America on 19 October 2011, in Japan on 20 October 2011 and on 21 October 2011 in Europe. The game starts from Kazekage Rescue Arc and goes all up to the Five Kage Summit Arc.

The game play is similar to Dynasty Warriors; it is fast paced and very immersible. If you are a fan of the aforementioned or the Naruto anime series then this game is certainly right up your alley. You get to follow the timeline of the anime starting from Naruto's return to Konoha Village after his years of training out with Jiraiya. The game is simple enough for anyone to grasp as the tutorial and helpful tips teach you all the basics in a simple and timely fashion. Combat outside of main story arc is a bit boring but the spectacular one on one fights with main characters make up for it.

Well you heard what they said, today we are playing basketball. Welcome to another video game review here on Zalgo Cometh, today we will be reviewing the newly released NBA 2k12. NBA 2K12 is a basketball video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It was released on October 4, 2011 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP, PC, Wii and for the first time on iOS iPhone and iPad. For the first time there will be three different covers to choose from when picking up the game, with Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan being the cover athletes of the game.

The game revolves around 3 main sections:

My Player mode returns from NBA 2K10 and NBA 2K11.3 G.M.s interview a basketball player before the draft and good conversations can increase his Draft stock. Other improvements are more endorsements where a player can be on billboards, be on magazine covers, create shoes and even an NBA "Where Amazing Happens" commercial.
Creating a Legend mode also returns from NBA 2K11 with improvements of its own. Now instead of taking a rookie Michael Jordan onto any team, players take control of any current NBA player and play out the rest of his career. It has most of the same features as "My Player mode" except the fact that players use a current NBA player rather then a custom player.
NBA's Greatest mode: For the first time, gamers will be able to take control of some of the most iconic players in NBA history, such as Hakeem Olajuwon and Michael Jordan and put them against other classic and modern-day teams to create NBA dream matchups. Each of these 15 basketball legends has been meticulously recreated with an uncanny level of detail.

My experience with this game has been somewhat new as I have not played a basketball game in a while. I congratulate them on the technicality and complexity of the game but feel that their should be a bit of a lower entry point of learning for the game. As I found it a tad difficult to know what I was doing right off the bat had it not been for my limited real world basketball knowledge and the tips I received from my friend who is a fan of the series. Fans of this series will definitely enjoy the subtle tweaks to the A.I. and controls of the game as well as the updated rosters. The game features a exciting soundtrack and does a very good job presenting itself graphically capturing the essence and fast paced action of basketball...

This week we tackle the post apocalyptic world of Rage, the newest IP from id Software; the lovely company that brought us such classics as Doom & Quake. This game utilizes a new graphics engine called id Tech 5; id Tech 5 is the latest proprietary game engine being developed by id Software, currently still being actively upgraded, and follows its predecessors, id Tech 1, 2, 3 and 4. It is a major advancement over id Tech 4. Take a look for yourself...

Ok, ok, grab a rag and wipe up all that drool; we got a game review to do here. Rage is a first-person shooter video game with hints of RPG elements by id Software which was released on October 4, 2011 in North America. In Rage's story, the asteroid strikes on August 23, 2029, and the few pockets of survivors are forced to begin a new civilization. The world is populated by human survivors of the impact, who have come together to form settlements around oases and other practical or habitable locations, including racetracks. These fragile homes are diligently defended by the inhabitants against bandits and mutants, which are divided into various gangs and organizations of their own. Bandits and mutants serve as the player's main enemies for much of the game, and later races

The Authority: Very little is known about the Authority. While their motives are unclear, they offer rewards to anybody who turns in an Ark Survivor.

The Jackal Clan: Howls in the night signal the coming of the Jackal Clan. Part animal and part human, they are a savage group of hunters and combatants.

The Gearheads: The Gearheads are the most intelligent of the wasteland's factions. Not relying solely on brute force for survival, these bandits have built advanced machinery and weaponry that make them a force to reckon with.

Due to the diversity of the varying factions, each encounter is different and requires adaptation to the different fight styles of each faction from the player. Rage is most definitely a welcome breath of fresh air into the FPS market, which at the moment is heavily saturated with hype from Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. Some may draw comparisons to the game of Borderlands, but Rage is its own personal franchise that has a solid story and potential room for growth and marketing. It does a solid job of being simple enough to pick up and play but not too complex where you lose focus on the story and game-play of the title. Well that's all the details i'm going to give away, since I don't want to spoil your own experience with the game when you get to try it out. Its already Monday and many of you are hating that its here again but rejoice, for it also means that today is Monday Night At The Movies or MNATM for short. This week we are going in a creepy direction and taking a look at a movie recommended by a friend of mine, Clinton. Today, I will show this movie for your viewing pleasure, so that you can comment about it and share your thoughts on it after watching it here on my blog. Yaay; It's Friday, Friday, play a new game on Friday. Welcome to another game review blog here on Zalgo Cometh, today were having fun with FIFA 12. FIFA 12 is the nineteenth game in Electronic Arts' FIFA series of soccer video games. It was developed by EA Canada, and published by Electronic Arts worldwide under the EA Sports label. David Rutter, the line producer for FIFA 12, promised "a revolutionary year for FIFA ... especially in the gameplay department. Along with several other new EA Sports titles, FIFA 12 was available three days early to purchasers of the EA Sports Season Ticket. FIFA 12 sports several new features and improvements over its predecessors.

So here we have EA Sports newest addition to the world of sports gaming and I for one must commend them on this game. It really changes how I look on the sports game genre. As you can see from the trailer there are many new improvements and tweaks to this game that promise to deliver a new and exciting twist to the world of FIFA. A "trinity" of major gameplay changes have been implemented in FIFA 12; these are the Impact Engine, Tactical Defending, and Precision Dribbling:

In development for several years, the Impact Engine improves collision variety, accuracy, and momentum preservation. A new advanced procedural animation system is used along with collision physics to produce different results depending on the players and physical forces involved.
The new Tactical Defending system aims to change the approach to defending by placing equal importance on positioning, intercepting passes and tackling. When defending there will be more of an emphasis on slowing attackers down and containing them, and pressuring them into making mistakes.
The Precision Dribbling feature allows players to dribble whilst shielding, meaning you can still move around the pitch whilst holding players off, rather than being rooted to the spot. Close control has been added below jogging as a way of allowing players to take smaller, more frequent touches, keeping the ball closer and keeping tighter control.

With those new improvements explained we move to a classic favorite of FIFA games; the ball tricks...

Two additional areas of noteworthiness are the career mode and the online mode. In the career mode the player has the option to assign himself as the team manager, a regular player on the team or as both a player and team manager. I personally think this was a brilliant move by EA to appeal to all types of soccer players, whether they are interested in the actual on field events or the actually managing of the club and its players. From this versatility it is obvious that EA has earned their place as a top competitor in the sports games genre.

Player: As a player you have to learn your trade by working your way up through the club to go from a nobody to being a club legend.

Manager: As a manager your role is to pick the best possible team and tactics for each match, build a great squad of players and keep them all happy; if that’s possible.

Player Manager: As a player manager you can have influence both on and off the pitch. Manage your lineup and join the action for key games.

Career mode is multifaceted by virtue of the option to play as a created player or an existing player on the roster. If that was not enough of a bonus, you can also limit control to only one specific player or the entire team. FIFA 12 has undoubtedly positioned itself to be the new measuring-stick to which most future soccer games will be judged.

As far as the online aspect of FIFA 12 goes, that also brings new and innovative aspects to the game’s multi-player experience. EA claims to have "revolutionized" the online side of FIFA 12. Among the changes is a new mode called "Head to Head Seasons", a variation on regular ranked matches where league points are awarded for winning or drawing matches. There will also be related "cup" tournaments every few weeks. A new online service called EA Sports Football Club launches simultaneously with FIFA 12, and has been compared to a social network that tracks what players do in the game and awards experience points. This will be linked to both friend-based and worldwide leaderboards, and include a leveling system. The player also chooses a particular football club to support which will be apportioned a share of all XP earned, with league tables for clubs based on the average experience points contributed by their fans. Each week will count as a "season" with clubs being promoted or relegated based on the skill of those who support them. EA Sports Football Club will in future connect play across multiple titles, starting with FIFA 12 and the forthcoming FIFA Street. By playing both games experience points earned in one will be carried over to the other. I think it’s fair to say that FIFA 12 has answered the call of soccer fans worldwide, it has raised its standards above and beyond anyone’s expectations.

As anti sports as I might be, I must say that I had fun playing this game; it felt good to have an interest in soccer again after all these years. My only fault with this game is the shot power meter; as it is far too small and too hard to discern how powerful a shot you are taking. If memory serves in other FIFA games I have played the shot power meter was much easier to see and also there was an arrow to direct the different kicks awarded. i.e. corner kick, penalty kick, free kick, etc. There is no doubt in my mind however that soccer fans all over the world will thoroughly enjoy the hours of gameplay this game has to offer. The immense variety of modes and online inter-connectivity that EA FIFA 12 brings to the table is simply astounding and will keep their fans satisfied and occupied for a long time to come. Soccer is still the most loved world sport; all people can connect with it on some level, whether as a die hard fan or just an average person...

I wonder how many of you out there remember this song? Well sorry to disappoint, but that's not what we are here for today; today we look at Magicka. Magicka is an action-adventure video game based on Norse mythology and developed by independent developer Arrowhead Game Studios. It was released via Steam for Microsoft Windows on January 25, 2011. A free demo was also made available for download. The game was developed by eight students at Luleå University of Technology in Skellefteå, Sweden and sold over 200,000 copies in its first 17 days on sale.

In Magicka, four mages of a sacred order travel to fight against an evil sorcerer and his creations. The game world is based loosely on Norse mythology, drawing inspiration from other fantasy games like Warhammer and Diablo, and features in-game references to various other media titles including Star Wars, Star Trek, World of Warcraft, Neverwinter Nights, 300, Lord of the Rings, The Colour of Magic, Castlevania, Highlander, Platoon, Indiana Jones, Tron: Legacy, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Its achievements provide further references to Fullmetal Alchemist, South Park, Unreal Tournament, Harry Potter, and Metal Gear. The game also takes liberties when it comes to the classic fantasy setting, at one point supplying the players with an M60 machine gun, which the game itself notes to be "far too advanced to be part of a fantasy game".

The beautiful thing about this game is the immense simplicity, replay ability and versatility of its combat system. When casting a spell composed of multiple elements, there is a set hierarchy which determines the type of the spell cast. Shields take precedence over projectiles, which take precedence over beams, which take precedence over sprays. The order in which the component elements of a spell are summoned has no effect on the type or power of the spell, and does not matter, except when attempting to cast a "Magick" as opposed to a regular spell. The potential for experimentation is limitless and will surely lead to hours upon hours of game-play fun. Be sure to experiment and find out the spell combinations that work best for your play-style. This one goes out to all the people who can't enjoy quality, graphically intensive, seemingly endless gaming. Today is your day to receive some gaming loving in its simplest form, say hello to your newest (or current for some) addiction; Angry Birds. I have been wanting to do this review for a while but with so many gaming conventions and awesome games releasing one after the other, I honestly couldn't find the time. Thankfully due to my vacation and a bit of a break on the gaming side of things, I now present to you Angry Birds.

So I think the trailer gives you the basic rundown of why these birds are so angry, and the extent of the anger they hold. I'm still trying to figure out how them being angry justifies letting themselves be hurled against varying surfaces, most times to the amusement of the pigs. Definitely wouldn't want to be the one that pisses off these birds, or run into them in a dark alley. Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Finnish computer game developer Rovio Mobile. In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield. As players advance through the game, new birds appear, some with special abilities that can be activated by the player. Can you find them all?

Red- The most basic type of bird. It breaks easily through glass, but it stopped by thicker construction materials.
**Basic Bird- Just flies and hits**

Blue- Don’t be fooled by its tiny stature! Able to produce triplets in a mere millisecond, the young appear in a poof of smoke where the adult used to be.

Yellow- Possibly the angriest of all the species. Working itself into a frenzy of pique when it sees its intended target, very little can stop the charge of a frothing yellow!

Black- The 'black sheep' of the bird family is much more dangerous than an initial appraisal would suggest.
**Bomb- Explodes when impacted, destroying nearby walls**

White- The most fertile of the angry birds, it lays eggs that can be dropped as projectile weapons on unfortunate targets as well!
**Bomber- Click to lay an explosive egg when directly overhead**

Boomerang- This tropical fellow has well-honed migratory instincts: he can’t get more than a few feet from his original perch before he starts migrating right back!

Big Red- This red bird has surely been eating his vitamins! He has ascended
to the very peak of red bird awesomeness and become a Big Red- the kind of the redbirds!
**Wrecking Ball- Breaks through all kinds of walls with ease**

Its no secret that Angry Birds has grown to be one of the most popular social games in our modern day society. Many game companies are scrambling to try and figure out the secret to their success to replicate it, but Angry Birds in and of itself is an unique experience that should be experienced by everyone in its original form. Young or old; it is a game that we can all find some connection to, or just release our frustrations by helping some temperamental birds to recover their prized possessions. You may think this is a question only men ponder, but even women have insecurities about which is better and how to be more appealing in general if needed. Just like most things in life they come in varying shapes and sizes; ranging from AA - K in the UK while in EU it ranges from A - R. Breasts also vary in terms of aerola to breast ratio and nipple size; in my humble opinion breasts are primarily for feeding kids and as such many may feel conflicted seeing them in a sexual light. However from childhood to adulthood we as men associate the breasts with the stigma of fertility or healthiness of sorts, which is usually the main factor why find men tend like sizable breasts over the smaller variety. This leads to another question of quality or quantity; but we will leave that for your own mind to decide for another time.

Ass, booty, ba-dunka-dunk, junk in the trunk; this list also goes on and on. The popularity of ass dates back to the days of slavery, when the whites came to Africa and saw the beautiful black females with their shapely figures in comparison to their own women. They were instantly drawn to the openness of their garments and the shapely allure of their figure. Continuing along the path of history more and more women tried to attain this 'look' of wide hips and bountiful posterior through the use of something called a corset. Even seen more and popularized in mainstream media in previous and current media with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce Knowles, and Nicki Minaj. In this day and age the majority is now seemingly more booty based than breast based seeing both males and females having a want of bigger posterior measurements.

Gotta say personally I am partial to the big butts and I cannot lie. Don't have anything against the ladies that can only highlight the breasts they have; its just a personal preference mostly in the sexual sense of wanting to smack the ass or see how well her underwear can support and fit her massive butt cheeks. Just the thought of gripping all that booty meat firmly in your palms, controlling every movement of her body, holding her tightly to you....ok let me stop before my imagination goes to far. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is an action role-playing game developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. It is the third game in the Deus Ex series, and a prequel to the original game released in 2000. The game is set in 2027, 25 years before the first title, where corporations have extended their influence past the reach of global governments. The game follows Adam Jensen, the security chief for one of the game's most powerful corporations, Sarif Industries. After a devastating attack on Sarif's headquarters, Adam is forced to undergo radical surgeries that fuse his body with mechanical augmentations, and he is embroiled in the search for those responsible for the attack.

In this day and age games of this caliber are far apart and few; as such they are to be celebrated. Sadly even great games cannot be perfect but thankfully the minor flaws with this game do not heavily impede the awesomeness with runneth over from this game. The main flaw of which would be that the load screens in this game are abysmal, so be forewarned you can go and make a sandwich and come back to enjoy your game. Thankfully the great story and engaging game-play keeps you coming back for more; not to mention the immense replay value that this game holds from all its varying options and branching story options. Feel free to experiment and find the play-style that suits you; whether you are the brash bad-ass that kills all the bad guys, or the stealthy ninja that moves in the shadows; the choice and freedom is yours. The different "pillars of gameplay", as called by the developers, are "Combat", "Stealth", "Hacking", and "Exploration". As you progress through the game you will gain access to various 'Augmentations' that will aid you in your gameplay experience. Augmentations are technological modifications to the body that allow the user to use superhuman abilities. These Augmentations cater to each of the four gameplay types. Augmentations, while enhancing the player's performance in each of the gameplay types, also allow players to craft their own methods of play as they see fit. Bottom line if you own a PC, PS3 or XBOX 360 this game is undoubtedly a sound and viable addition to your gaming library...

Don't Be A Hater

A topic of wide and varying size, no pun intended; OK maybe it was. Whether you are a guy or a girl, you will no doubt have some opinion on the matter. So with that being said, lets dive right into another random Monday blog. I would typically say lets define what exactly it means to be fat but, in this day and age using the term fat is such a relative term that has been misused and misconstrued many times over where women are concerned. It's not even a proper adjective really, fat is just the material accumulated in your body from consuming extra calories. In the middle-ages overweight women were considered beautiful, and many Afro-carribean and island cultures still see it this way. Some parameters used to refer to fat women include: plump, rosy, voluptuous, chubby, thick, and the list goes on and on. Women will always wish to conform to the 'norm' of their naturalized society. It's unfortunate that our Western society demands such perfection because it's driving people mad and creating pretty strange behavior in our kids.

Ladies not withstanding your constant need for perfection if you so desire, or your innate ability to compare yourself to others; the bottom line ladies is that being fat should not be an issue to the point that its constantly on your mind or causing you mental or emotional strife. Variety is the spice of life so what ever your body-type or size the last thing you need to do is concern yourself with what society deems as the accepted norm. Wheres the appeal and fun in having every girl looking like the other one? Now I wont be as naive as to say this give women an excuse to let themselves go and not try to maintain some sort of decorum as far as there body goes, because as with all things in life their has to be a cut off point. Sadly we need to grow up and stop being boys and be men; there is absolutely no superficial reason or need to choose to ignore a girl because of her weight or just because she has a ponch. I told you we would be back with a bang after-all didn't I? Welcome to another Friday game review courtesy of yours truly, here on Zalgo Cometh. Today we look at newly released game From Dust. I personally have been looking forward to this games release for a while now, as it is not subject to any specific genre of gaming; at best it can be called a God Game, because in reality that is what you basically are to the inhabitants of the game.

In From Dust, players assume a god-like first-person perspective from which they manipulate an archipelago environment in an effort to save, and enlighten, a nomadic tribe. With a spherical cursor, the user controls certain types of matter - namely soil, lava and water - in real time. Lava cools to form solid rock, vegetation propagates in soil and spreads naturally once a village is built, and moving water quickly erodes terrain. Physical changes to the world occur extremely rapidly, allowing players to restructure islands within minutes. Campaigns in From Dust are structured as a sequence of missions, whereby completing certain objectives expedites the tribe's progress and bestows additional powers, such as the capacity to jellify water. However to fully appreciate and explore the various maps the player is given to play, it may require more time and patience as there are sometimes relics or objectives, that are in the players best interest to be completed before moving on to the next level for full game completion.

Despite the effort made by this game to be different and bring something new to the industry, it has its faults just as with any other game. Even though the aforementioned merit is true, the implementation of this 'new gameplay' of sorts easily becomes repetitive; unless you are truly the type to enjoy games of this genre such as The Sims. Even though it can be comparatively cast in the same light as The Sims, From Dust does not offer the level of interactivity and freedom that The Sims offers. From Dust received generally favourable reviews, following its initial release on 27 July 2011, on Xbox 360. The PC version, released on August 17, 2011, received less favorable reviews overall. The PC version of the game is marred by unrefined controls, limited framerate to 30 FPS, and a lack of anti-aliasing or other advanced graphical options. Ubisoft's DRM (Digital Rights Management) for the game in particular received many complaints, since a constant Internet connection is required when launching the game, even though it was initially reported that the game would simply require a one-time-only activation.

Thankfully to date Ubisoft has announced that a future patch will apparently eliminate the need for internet authentication to play the game. A Ubi Forum Manager stated: "Our tech teams are working on a patch that should release in approximately two weeks that will eliminate the need for any online authentication. This development time is required as we are working to ensure that those who have already started the game, and who's progress is currently saved on our servers, will receive and save their game information locally. Once the patch is ready, players who already have the game will automatically receive the update on their next login and subsequent game sessions will be 100% offline." So bear this in mind if you are planning on picking up this game; in the mean time enjoy me doing a little introductory play-through for your entertainment...

Vital Information For Everyday Life

Hai Hai; I see you have returned yet again for another random Monday blog. You must either be really bored or really be interested in my somewhat twisted mentality, either way you are awesome for taking the time to read this. You should already have an idea of what we will be referring to for today's blog, the act of cuddling. This can take place before or after sex; typically however it is also done as two partners go to sleep, they embrace and fall asleep intertwined with one another as loving partners. Most women actually prefer cuddling to sex, as it gives them a more emotional connection with their partner and comforts them. Sadly most men aren't much for cuddling, and prefer sex usually followed by sleep or some other activity, which leaves their partner feeling distant and emotionally unattached.

Men tend to not realize the importance or use of cuddling for a wide variety of reasons, some logical while others not so much. Researchers claim that men are emotionally detatched due to complexes about masculinity, but there is nothing unnatural or un-manly for a man to like cuddling. In today's society you even have females who aren't exactly fans of cuddling, and don't always readily want it in the first place; it's like they say different strokes for different folks. Here are some reasons men tend to not cuddle:

Too hot. Many guys have a high metabolic rate, and therefore their bodies run a little hotter than a woman's. Having a body pressed up against you creates a lot of body heat, and this can make it too hot for comfort.
Not comfortable. Typically the man is larger than the woman and he might feel like he's crushing you or that you feel that he's too heavy for you.
The arms. Putting one arm over your woman is a nice feeling, but what to do about that pesky other arm? If guy's had detachable arms maybe they wouldn't mind cuddling so much. Many times the unused arm will fall asleep, and get really uncomfortable in the process.

Welcome to the first in a hopefully a long list of modern and graphically challenging games to welcome my new graph-card. Today we are taking a look at a game that any PC gamer should know of and appreciate as a great game; Team Fortress 2. Team Fortress 2 (abbreviated as TF2) is a free-to-play team-based first-person shooter multiplayer video game developed by Valve Corporation. A sequel to the original mod Team Fortress based on the Quake engine, it was first released as part of the video game compilation The Orange Box on October 10, 2007 for Windows and the Xbox 360. A PlayStation 3 version then followed on November 22, 2007.

Team Fortress 2 is distributed online through the Steam system, while retail distribution was handled by Electronic Arts. In June 2011, the game became a free-to-play title, supported by microtransactions for unique in-game equipment through Steam. The objective of the game is defined by the game mode in use:

In capture the flag maps, the objective for both teams is to obtain a briefcase of intelligence from the enemy team's base and return it to their own base while preventing the opposing team from doing the same.
In payload maps, one team has to work to escort a rail cart carrying a bomb along a track through a series of checkpoints, eventually detonating the bomb in the other team's base. The other team has to defend their positions and prevent the cart from reaching the end within a set amount of time.
Arena is a team deathmatch mode. Arena maps focus on smaller environments and no respawning after the death of a player's character. A team wins in arena by eliminating all of the other side's members in the arena or capturing the map's central control point. Arena was introduced in the August 2008 update.

There are nine unique player classes in Team Fortress 2, categorized into offense, defense, and support roles. Each class has at least three weapons: a unique primary weapon, a common or unique secondary weapon such as a shotgun or pistol respectively, and a distinct melee weapon in keeping with the character. The three offensive classes are the Scout, the Soldier, and the Pyro. The Demoman, the Heavy, and the Engineer make up the defensive classes. The final category, support, consists of the Medic, the Sniper, and the Spy. Personally my favorite class is the Spy since he has the ability to mimic the other team and infiltrate their forces.
